Question about Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer
Hi - try this. Get cartridges into centre of printer - turn power off by pulling the power lead out. - (dont press power button as cartridge may head back inside - a no no.)
Remove all cartridges, then remove print head by lifting the arm to the right of the printhead. Carefully blot dry all ink showing top and bottom of the printhead with a lint free 'paper" - the stuff they make baby wipes out of is ok as it does not fall apart as does paper tissue.
Wash the print head under warm very clean running water until all colour stops running from top and bottom. Blot dry from time to time to check the clolour is finished. When it is so, make sure all of cartridge is DRY then replace in cartridge holder and close right arm down.
Replace ink cartridges, close top lid and power on again. You should check you cartridges are the correct colour ie not purple or orange etc before reinserting them - else you will have the problem again.
Go into maintenance mode and run cleaning on all colours - this will flush ink thru all heads. Do a nozzle check and it should be all pretty good.
