To remove the cabinet safely, the washing machine should be turned off and unplugged. Next take out the control panel by removing the screws. Also take out the spring clips which are situated in the corners and after doing that remove the harness that is connected to the lid switch wiring. Pull the lid and also keep a hand on the cabinet opening that shows itself when you open the lid. Furthermore adjust the cabinets position and then pull the lid and the cabinet opening. It should be removed now.

I have no way to connect to the granite counter top. Can it be mounted to the side cabinets?

Need prefix for model number. Need complete model number. I believe that the numbers that you have given are stock numbers from your user manual. Kenmore can be several different manufacturers. Some brands have kits to mount unit from the sides using brackets at the top. If stainless steel tub, look for removable plastic caps on the right and left sides of unit. These holes would be used for installing bolts into cabinet. If plastic tub and no kits are available holes can be drilled into sides to secure unit to cabinet. As long as heads of bolts(screws) are flush to allow door closing, unit will not leak because of tub(door gasket.

Leaking at front base of washer. Not a stream but a growing puddle as it goes through its cycles. Not sure where to look to find the cause. All water and drain connections are good.

Remove the cabinet to access the water pump. It is attached to the motor front/center.
It will be leaking.
No repair, only replacement will stop the leak.
Remove 2 screws on the right and left sides of the control console. The console is hinged. Fold it to the rear of the machine. Unplug the lid switch connector.
Remove 2 clips holding the back panel to the cabinet base.
Remove the cabinet. Motor and pump are at the bottom center.

Removing the Washer Top
Three screws secure the washer top at the back of the washer. Remove the three screws and lift the top from the washer.

Removing the Console from the Cabinet
Disconnect the Touch Pad/LED Assembly ribbon connector from the left side of the Central Control Unit and release it from the wiring harness brackets on the right side of the washer top

Remove the detergent dispenser drawer by pressing down on the release tab at the back of the drawer and pulling it completely out of the washer.

Once the drawer is removed, remove the screw in the recessed hole next to the drawer opening. Release the tab securing the right side of the console to the washer

Open the washer door and place a flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot in the bottom center of the console. Push the console up to release center console tab. Be sure the ribbon cable clears the cabinet frame.

Removing the Touch Pad/LED Assembly from the Console
The Touch Pad/LED Assembly is removed as a single unit and contains the Push Buttons, LEDs, cable, etc. The buttons can be replaced separately

Taking off shell of washing machine

Remove the shell:
nplug the machine. Remove the end caps on both sides of the console by putting a flat screwdriver in the top of the end caps from the back and gently prying up. Remove the two Phillips screws holding the corners of the console down. Lift the console and gently fold back. Unplug the lid switch. That's the 3-wire quick disconnect below the timer. (If you have a high price model, you'll have three hoses under a plastic cover on the left. disconnect those hoses before going further.)
Using a flat screwdriver remove the gold clips holding the cabinet to the back. Place the blade of the screwdriver in the indentation closest to you and tilt the handle of the screwdriver back.
Open the lid. Lift and tilt the entire cabinet toward you. Look down through the hole to the front bottom edge of the cabinet. It is hooked under the front edge of the washer frame. Remove the cabinet and place it aside.
Replacing the shell:
Pick up the cabinet, hook it under the front of the frame, and tilt it back into place. Push the sides of the cabinet in as you are tilting it back to make sure the hooks in the frame (back, sides) line up with the cabinet. You can know it's in place when the edges of the cabinet line up evenly with the edges of the back.
Re-install the gold clips. Hook them into the back panel, put them into the slots in the cabinet, and push down until they snap into place. Re-connect the lid switch. Lower the console. Replace the screws. Replace the end caps - bottom first, then snap them in at the top.
Happy washing!

If the motor makes no noise in the spin cycle only, it sounds like you need a lid switch.
Unplug the machine.
Remove the cabinet and place it in a position you can work under it.
The lid switch is held in lpace with two Phillips screws on the right edge of the hole. There is also a 5/16 in ***** holding the ground wire to the cabinet. Install the new switch using all the clips and screws that were holding the old switch in place.

Kenmore Series 70 Washer Model 110

That would be your lid switch that has went bad.  Remove the console caps, then remove the two screws that hold it down (sometimes these screws are in the rear of the console)  Rotate the console out towards you gently, then fold it up and over the top of the unit.  You see 2 gold colored hold down clamps on top, and either side of the unit.  You will also see a wire and disconnect going down through the cabinet on your right hand side.  Disconnect these wires (be sure unit is unplugged) and rotate the whole cabinet towards you.  You remove the two screws that hold the switch in place and a 5/16" screw underneith that holds the ground wire.  Unclip the connector from the rear top of the cabinet and remove the switch.  Be sure to bring your whole model number 110.************** when you get the new part, there are two of these, and they look the same except the wire ends are different.  Good luck    Jim
