Ok, you're description is a bit fuzzy, but it sounds like a Warning Box pops up and warns that _______ files will be dumped ________ and to uninstall newly installed ________ (software/hardware).

At first thought, it sounds more like a virus or malware than a real warning. What exactly does it say in the Warning and are you SURE that the email you opened and played a video from was sent by a friend AND the friend actually says they meant to send it to you? Malware could easily send itself to you inside an email with a video in it from a friends email account.

Also, updating drivers probably isn't the issue if it happens when you are not watching that video.

Update and run your antivirus program and maybe post some more specifics. Thanks

HP laptop appear error message during the booting such as wireless 701, coms, keyboard LED blink, shutdown etc. you may try to update newly bios version first. it could be fix:
1) download new version bios at HP support,
2) run its for windows version at laptop windows if laptop booting in windows well
3) run its DOS version at winpe which boot at DVD if laptop could not come in windows itself.
if it is not fix, it is could be SB bridge issue, at most AMD SB+NB bridge.

I am getting an error everytime after 5 minutes, w...

Could you please provide me the exact error message?

However to stop the system shutdown first follow these steps.

Disable automatic system restart.

1. Restart the computer and press the f8 key to open the Advanced Boot Options menu.
2. Select the Disable automatic restart on system failure option.
3. Restart the computer to accept this change.
Then go to safe mode

This problem occurs after a memory dump file (error log file) is written by Windows XP. Because the memory dump file flag not reset in Windows XP the memory dump file will contiue to be written every time Windows is restarted.

1. Restart the computer and immediately press f8 repeatedly. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and then press enter .
2. Click Start , right-click Computer , and then select Properties .
3. Click Advanced system settings , grant permission to continue if prompted, and then click the Advanced tab.
4. On the Advanced tab, click Settings
  1. In the Virtual Memory section, click Change .
  2. For Paging file size for selected drive, click No Paging File , and then click Set .
  3. Click Yes after the following warning appears:
If the paging file on volume X: has an initial size of less than xx megabytes, then the system may not be able to create a debugging information file if a STOP error occurs. Continue anyway?
(X is the drive letter and xx is the amount of RAM installed on your computer minus 1 megabyte.)
  1. Click System Managed Size .
  2. Click OK four times to return to the Windows Desktop Screen and then restart.
For more information plz check the below doc from HP.
I hope this will definitely resolve your issue.
If not plz get back with the exact error message so I can give you better solution on this.
If you find this helpful then Plz vote for me..Dreamkam

Oh NO!

i have had this problem with mine and a few of my friends computers. they were dell. i couldnt get into safe mode or normal. so i got an external enclosure for the 2.5inch hard drive thats in them. so i would take out the hard drive and put it in the external enclosure and hook it up to another computer and save all the pictures and music and stuff like that on to my computer if i had space or another external hard drive i had. i always run a virus scan before i transfer anything. then i would format the hard drive a few times and reinstall windows and everything

Warning... continued

Hello Mary,

You seem to be getting what is called, the blue screen of death. This blue screen with white text can be caused by many things and I will provide a link for you to read at the end of this post. After reading the reasons the blue screen of death is occurring their should be some links ( on the site i will link you to) to places that may help.

My suggestion would be to start up in safe mode.
To do that you hit f8 on the computers start up. Then log in to the administrators account and un-install any reciently insatlled programs. ( the ones you installed and after received the blue screen of death.

Restart your computer and log in the normal way. Update everything ( even your drivers). And of course restart.

Once you have your computer working fine wiht outh the blue screen of death then add the programs installed one by one till you find which one is causing it.

AFter that feel free to post back wiht your results and I will be glad to help.

I also have the same problem. I've tried all the above plus some added info. The floppy still works when I swap it with the DVD. Occasionally it works for a short time right after a hard boot but soon after it appears to uninstall. I have searched the net for answers to this problem without success. I tried the registry correction without avail. There has been some online comments that the problem appeared after an auto update from uSoft. I believe the problem is software or firmware related.
