JVC KD-S731R does not have the option of connecting an ipod. The RCA ports on the rear of the unit are a Line-Out. These RCA's only OUTPUT sound. Not an INPUT RCA that you require. The only other method of using an ipod with this stereo is to purchase an FM-Modulator to connect the ipod. Once purchased, you must connect the antenna wire coming from the vehicle to the module, then you must connect the antenna wire coming from the module to the stereo. The other wire will be connected to either a jack or a ipod specific plug depending on the type of modulator used.
Your kenwood only has preouts for a subwoofer. If you want to add the amp the amp will need to have some high inputs. If it does not then you will need to buy an accessory that will allow you to connect speakers and have rca outputs. From there yo will need two sets of rca jacks to run to the amplifier.
make sure the yellow wire is hooked up and is getting 12v and the red wire is getting power to if this is all right unhook the red wire and add some speaker wire to it and hook it up to the fuse box and also make sure you have it grounded and the antenna cord is plugged in
you can only plug this type of mp3 player through the headphone jack to your aux in jack on the front. the usb port is for memory sticks and cards your unit will automatically play the tracks off of one of these
