Dodge journey rear hatch wont lock. When you lock the car all the doors lock but you can still open the rear hatch

I would guess that either the wiring to the hatch lock is broke, or the lock or linkage isn't functioning. Have someone stand at the back of the car when locking the doors and listen for the latch actuator to click, if it does click then it's probably a broken plastic piece on the linkage, if it doesn't then either you have some bad wiring or the actuator itself may be bad.

I HAVE A 2009 FORD ESCAPE AND THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN FUSE IS GOOD. PLEASE HELP ME.

You need a latch assembly. Common problem. Open the hatch glass. Then try and lift up and push forward the plastic door panel around the spot where the glass closes into the hatch. It should give you enough room to see the latch assembly inside. Use a flashlight to look for the latch which is in the center bottom of the hatch. There is a white plastic lever. Push or pull on the lever and the door should open. The latch has a electric actuator that goes bad. Only replaced as a latch assembly.

The tail gate and rear window will not open although I hear the electric release motor operate

I had the same problem with my 2001 Blazer. Just remove the panel by the screws located on the side of the tailgate, the problem was a bad actuator which pulls the lever to open the glass hatch. Once you take off the panel, remove the metal shield on the tailgate and the actuator will be mounted on the back of it. There are several ways to open the hatch on blazers and jimmys. You can try to release by inserting a small screwdriver and pushing left using the entry hole in the rear hatch deck just below the plastic trim in the center. This works ok unless the latch is out of alignment. The quicker way to release the window lock is to pull the center of the plastic trim (where it rises) toward the inside of the car and break the plastic trim attachment. Remember first to remove the hatch handle.By pulling away from the window, you can then insert a finger between the two walls of the lock assembly and push down. The window will open immediately. Ignore the broken trim attachment as there is plenty of support for the top of the door trim piece. Unbolt the 9/32 panel screws and the two phillips head side screws and the panel will come off. Careful of the rods clipped to the panel. They come off easily as does the hatch door activator. Rather than have to buy an actuator because the blue piece of plastic broke, replacements are available at online auto supply stores. Remember to make sure that the lever of the actuator hits the window release mechanism squarly. A little bending with pliers will align these two pieces so they strike evenly.

My rear hatch want open from the outside nor will the glass open. I had it checked and they said it wasn't getting power to the door but didn't know what the problem was.

I had the same trouble and found that I had to disconnect the glass hatch switch. It is probably defective like mine. I had to release the door by going from the inside and opening a little plastic door and open the whole hatch by using the emergency lever. Then I had to unscrew the plastic panel near the glass hatch and pry it apart just enough to disconnect the glass hatch switch. It is just a small connector that pulls apart. There are two connectors. One for the back wiper and then the glass hatch so make sure you disconnect the right one. This allows me to use the whole door but the glass hatch becomes useless unless you get a new switch.

Rear glass will not open. push button and makes

2000 Chevy Blazer 4 door with pop up glass and drop down gate. I experienced this exact problem 4 years ago. The glass unlock actuator inside the drop down hatch has a small plastic piece connect to it. This piece pushes the glass unlock mechanism. In order to temporarily unlock, you must pull the carpeting piece down and located in the center is an access hole where your can depress the unlock mechanism from inside, until you find a replacement piece. I recommend the pick and pull lots where you can find a similar make and model blazer with the drop down gate. I was able to get the piece and actuator (just in case) for $5. You will have to disassemble the gate in order to replace the plastic piece which is easily removed from the actuator, but cannot be fixed with glue, even with crazy glue. Have a excellent day and pass it on!

2006 Tahoe Rear Hatch lock actuator

A wrecking yard is your best bet. The odds of you getting one that is bad are astronomical. Are you sure your remote has fresh battery's? Also check your fuse going to that devise before buying another one. The second choice on where to find one is eBay. Of course they are usually higher then a wrecking yard. They get a lot of there parts for sale by going to the salvage yard them selves. I hope this helps and Good Luck, The Raz

Can not oprn tail gate

Hello jhall 538...this is a common problem on the blazer. If you can hear the rod actuator working, then the actuator rod to latch rod connector has broken. It's plastic, and a poor GM design.
To get the rear hatch open you will need to manualy release it. It can be done by working as much of the plastic tailgate trim you can get loose, from around the top center of the gate, where the latch is. remove the 2 screws that hold the handle on and remove handle. Then pry as much as you need to access the c type latch, and release it by moving it... it's spring loaded and will only move one way. Haveing someone help you lift the hatch while you unlatch it from inside the vehicle helps. After you get the hatch up and the tailgate folded down, make sure the latch is locked in the open position.
The actuator can be repaired, i've done it several times. GM will try and sell you a complete new acutator, which is rather costly compared to the $8.00 piece of plastic you need. This is what it looks like...The little blue plastic piece on the end of the actuator is what you need.
Good luck and i hope this helps.
