Hey,

Yes, if the connector does not fit then you need a DVI to VGA adapter.

like this
http://www.thebidfloor.com/images/video_cards/DVI_VGA_ADAPTER.jpg

and it will work.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

No signal when i used vga monitor connector to pc, no problem in dvi

Michael,
I have both ASUS and LG monitors with multiple input choices. On both, when the monitor is turned on, it remembers the last input source. Both monitors (and presumably yours, as well) have an INPUT selection in their SETUP MENU.
So, I'm suggesting you search your monitor for an INPUT selection option, then choose "VGA" rather than DVI / HDMI / AV / COMPONENT / CABLE / ANTENNA, etc.
Hope this helps.

Missing adapter or plug in connection to 15 balance mointor model 2015

The Balance CM2015 monitor uses a VGA connector,

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Balance-CM2015-15-LCD-Monitor-Black-/52125929

(The above is for reference only. Not advertising)

A VGA connector is also referred to as a 15-pin D-Sub connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

This is information on a DVI cable, and DVI connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If this is the monitor cable you have, you need this type of adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Now LOOK closely.
This adapter has male pins that stick out, and go into a female VGA connector on the monitor. The DVI side of this adapter has socket holes, for a male DVI cable.

IF, your monitor has a male VGA connector on it, and the DVI cable you have has socket holes, you need this adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dvitovga.html

If your monitor cable is not a DVI cable, post back with the style it is.
If nothing else post how many pins are in the connector on the cable, and how they are arranged.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

No signal detection on all the input ports from the PCDell lcd display 27

Well if you have a VGA monitor it definitely wouldn't go into any port but the VGA port.

Have you looked into the Bios or System Setup to make sure nothing in there regarding the VGA port is off?

I think your problem is either the Monitor is bad or the Video Card in the computer is bad. Make sure the vga cable is pushed in good in the computers vga port and that it is in good in the back of the monitor. Also you can look at the end that goes into the computer and see if any of the pin or prongs are bent. If so, that could be the problem. Don't get alarmed if it looks like some of the pins or prongs are missing, that's just the way it is made.

Does your monitor give you a message on the screen that says "No Input Signal"? If so that's a sure sign that maybe the Video Card in the computer is bad or is not pushed in all the way inside the computer if it resides in one of the slots. Try another monitor on the computer and if it gets the No Input Signal message then the video card is definitely bad.

To see if the Monitor is the problem just try it on another computer. If it fails on another computer, then you know the monitor is bad.

I want to connect my dell optiplex gx 280 desktop computer to my sony television, my tv manual says i can connect my computer to a port which i can easily locate on the television but i have a problem...

Every Sony LCD TV comes with VGA port (15 pin D-Sub connector) assuming you have LCD T. You can connect your monitor cable to this port & select the input on TV from the menu.

I need to buy a new monitor. What kind of monitor will it support, GA, DVI, HDMI ? Thanks.

You should go for a Widescreen LCD ro LED monitor. They all support VGA and DVI. If you get a Full HD screen then it will have a HDMI connection also. Just make sure your Display card can handle it.

Hi,how do I know wheather I need DVI or VGA cables to connect CPU to a Monitor.I sold monitor when I got laptop now I want set up the Dell Dimension 3100 as aback up,so I'm looking at wide sreen monitors...

Most of the Widescreen monitors come with DVI as well as VGA connector. A VGA connector and DVI connectors are different in many aspects. First of all the DVI connector would be white in color and VGA would be blue.
VGA connector has 15 pins and DVI has 24 +1 pin

No 9 pin video socket

Most video cards use a 15 pin VGA connector.

There is also a 9 pin VGA connector, but they are a lot less common - I'm guessing this is what you have.

Is the video cable hard-wired into your monitor or is it connected via a plug? If it's a plug, is that a 15 or 9 pin? If it's a 15 pin, then all you need to do is buy a new 15-15pin VGA cable.

If it's hard-wired, you'll need to buy some sort of adapter. These are available and don't cost much either, but you might need to try a more specialist computer store to find one.

Hope this helps!
