Question about Microsoft Excel for PC

1 Answer

Excel Database Hi friends, I am actually preparing to purchase a Point of Sale System but I've just finished entering all my stock barcodes, with the unit cost, selling price, mark up percentage etc etc.. Now i'm going to validate that all my data entry is correct. Is there any way to fast query my database and see in a form format that the price and description is correct for the barcode that is being scanned. I tried using the ctrl find but it seems very troublesome. anyone know of any short cuts that enables a more clear presentation. I tried using Data form and den clicking on criteria, but if i accidentally changed the data, it instantly changes it. would anyone be able to advise a better method to check all e prices?

I would suggest to protect the sheet first off all. Make sure you write your password down so you won't lose it. Second, try to sort your data A-->Z it'll make your job much easier.

Is there a utility to repair a Quickbooks POS

I don't believe there is such a utility.

However, in looking for a POS solution, to your question, I was directed to this page (a special phone number for Intuit Data Recovery Services):
http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/service/datarecovery.aspx

My research said that this article applies to POS just as it does to the regular product (even though this page does not specify that it relates to POS).

Using Microsoft Query to bring Access 2007 data into a spreadsheet

Try using Data > From Other Sources and select From Microsoft Query. In the Excel sheet, select the cell that you want the results to start in. Your MS Query would be pulling the data from your Access database.

CODES for entering an I.D number using vba

Try the help built into Excel and give yourself time to absorb it; Excel has some of the best help in the business. VBA may be more complex than you need to solve a data entry problem. If you're trying to add data input masks in a database, why don't you try Access (the help for which is admittedly weaker because database programming is among the most complex of all productivity apps)? I learned VBA from 3 books I rented from a good public library over the course of a project that was about a month long, (because) at some point Microsoft abandoned the idea of teaching it via help screens. Still, you might join a MS developer site and those are loaded with detailed explanations and many other experts. I hope this helps... I feel your pain.

STOCK REGISTER

Ur answer is simple.
Just keep a common database on internet for all stores & create website (ASP or PHP) or web based application(like Vb.Net or VB) much preferred.
.
so any sales occurs, it would be reflected across all stores,
so you can calculate total sales & remaining stock any any time and sort it or aggregiate it daily, weekly & montly..
