Question about Acer Aspire 9300 Notebook

1 Answer

Laptop won't boot up properly

I was using my laptop when the screen went blank, and then the battery went dead so I put it on charge and pressed the power button. The LED for the power button came on but nothing was happening, no sound from the laptop or anything, except for when you put a disc in the disc drive then the drive makes a sound like it is reading the disc. I have tried several things such as leaving it off for over one hour and leaving it on for over one hour. I even tried connecting it to a monitor in case the screen had broke but that didn't work. The screen remains completely blank as if the laptop hadn't even been turned on. I need it sorted out quick as I have lots of coursework to do and I don't want to have to format the hard drive either. I didn't mean to put this under the Compaq model sorry.

Connect your computers to an external monitor and press the appropriate F key combination (Shift + F7) to switch video output to the monitor. If you see an image on your monitor you have a bad LCD screen or back light inverter. If not you need a new motherboard. Guy that gets ticks, you need a new motherboard anyway.

New battery HP g61 is fully charged but not working \

Maybe the AC Adapter Power Cord is not working. If you can't get on the laptop with the power cord then it is bad and the battery might be drained so you have no power source to power up the laptop.
If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the batteryis not charging, then the battery is dead.

To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let thelatop run for 10 minutes or so.

To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in andremove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is deadand needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.

Battery could be dead and won't hold another charge. Batteries only last for so long until you have to replace them. If you laptop is ok with the AC Adapter & Power Cord meaning it boots and allows you to work in windows, then the battery is definitely dead.

you killed the laptop with out a UPS and you get a power surge with a dead battery them laptop takes the surge and kills the computer. You can remove the battery and unplug the power supply and hold the power button down for a minute then plug the power back in without the battery and try pushing the power button to see if it comes on if it does your lucky. IF it does not put the battery back in and try again. if There is still no power you have killed the power converter or killed the computer.

ACER ASPIRE 9410-4933 LAPTOP SCREEN GOES BLANK DURING P.O.S.T.

Were you working with laptop in battery mode, not plugged in a/c power? You could have drained your internal DC battery & at the same time damaged your B.I.O.S. [button type] battery inside the laptop. that the computer goes into POST means that it is trying to FIND itself, not finding the graphics card, it does not know what type of 'picture' ( usually black screen with ""DOS"" words ) to show you.
1st- turn laptop on, you should see name, what type of cpu (the "inner " workings of computer) and sometimes the amount of memory (clicking like a digital timer) If not, don't worry. Press f1,or DELETE, ESCAPE (ESC), or read your book to find the KEY to puts you into SETUP. There should be a menu and somewhere there are DEFAULT. USE THOSE! Reboot to see results.
