Question about Samsung LNT5265F 52 in. LCD HDTV

The sound on our new 52" Samsung TV is unacceptable

We purchased our Samsung TV a month ago from Best Buy in Loveland, CO. The sound is so garbled that we can only understand about 10% of what is being said. By contrast our old Sony TV still has perfect sound. Three technicians have looked at the problem and they all agree that the speakers are cheap, too small, and that they project the sound backwards instead of forwards. A $2000 TV should have perfect sound. We have attempted to manipulate the sound in the presence of the technicians but there was no improvement. I assume you fully stand behind your product. WHAT DO YOU PROPOSE TO DO ABOUT SOLVING THIS PROBLEM?

Okay, at the risk of sounding like a ****, here's the deal: you bought a brand-name $2000 52" 1080p LCD. I bought the same TV, at the same price, in March of '08. So either you're lying about how old your TV is, or somebody took your money. Either way, $2000 for a picture of this caliber is/was a steal, so don't go whining about the price and how it should have perfect sound. The speakers are pointed backwards to reflect the sound off that pretty chrome bezel on the outsides of the set. Not an idiotic move on Samsung's part, as they wanted to hide the speakers, unlike many other TV manufacturers. Obviously, your speakers are blown, probably the result of someone playing the sound a bit too loud. This begs a query: why don't you have a giant beautiful TV like this paired with a sweet surround sound system? You don't even need an expensive surround set-up, even just a $200 home theater in a box would suffice. Oh, and by the way, I'm pretty confident this website has ZERO affiliation with Samsung, so I DON'T PROPOSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

Sound on one channel from over the air antenna has suddenly become garbled. All others are fine.

If only one channel is affected it is not a problem usually with the set--it does not know what channel you are on---look in audio menu and make sure if set has SAP it is not on.

Unfortunately your TV will need to be serviced. You may take the unit to Best Buy to arrange for repair.

Left side of 52 inch Samsung flat screen tv is cracked,

You need to buy a new TV. Even if the screen is the only issue, it will cost more to repair it than to buy a new one, and it will take months since screens are in very short supply. Check with your homeowners insurance, it may be covered since i'm sure it was an accident and that's what insurance is for. Sorry.

Audio garbled and audio out of synch with video

Sony offered to replace my new TV with a used TV. Somehow, Sony thinks this is a fair exchange. Of course, I rejected that unacceptable screwing. I requested a full refund instead. When I receive a response, I will contact FixYa. Sony is the most dispicable company I have ever dealt with. They make a band of Gypsies look honest.

Cracked frame on brand new sony bravia 52" HD LCD TV

I would definetly call Sony and if it is something you can't live with return it, but remember impact damage voids the warranty, in other words if you were to drop the tv trying to return it the warranty is void. As much as you paid for that tv it should be cosmeticly a functionaly perfect. Let me know if I can provide further assistance and please rate this solution. Lone99star

Samsung lcd sound no picture

I don't know when you posted this question and I can tell you that I am quite furious with Samsung. My TV 52 inch, started to turn itself on and off on and off every 8 seconds. I did get in touch with the Samsung people and they told me that I could download firm ware that would fix it, but because the tv wouldn't stay on long enough for the menu to come up we couldn't do it. My TV has been out being fixed? in my town for 7 weeks. I just got a call and it is on the way. He told me it was the t-com board and I asked him if the part was new, and he said yes. It better be after all of this time. I did see that you can buy a t-com board on e-bay just a few minutes ago. If you can get your TV to the menu go to Samsung's site and look for a firm ware upgrade. They knew this was going to be a problem and they should have been recalled.

Insignia(samsung) 50" plasma Vertical red lines

I would take it back. I know from purchasing an Insignia LCD from them a while back, the TV just died after about 4 or 5 months. They ended up offering me another TV or with store credit. I took the store credit and chose another TV. I also did not have a warranty. I was told since it was Insignia (which is a Best Buy house brand) that replacing it was not a problem. Good luck.

NO VIDEO

I have a Samsung 50" plasma, that has been blacking out over the last 6 months. A 9/2005 set. Now its practically unwatchable as it happens 3 times in an hour. Its not heat related - I have a high volume 9" fan activated on TV power on. Turning the set offf/on usually makes it come back for a now short while. Considering to go put it in the back of my pickup and park it in front of Best Buy and discourage Samsung purchases. This is the 2nd Samsung TV I've purchased (the other a 32" tube) I gave to my folks a couple years ago and its gone bad as well. Samsung product may look good, but their video engineers are not.
