Saeco Vienna leaks water from water tank

I am having water leak from the water tank. The tank is not cracked but doesn't seem to create an adequate seal when seated on unit. I have tried reseating the tank many times but still have water leaking down the back of the unit.

Sorry for the delay in response but I just read your complaint. I had similar water leakage issues and mistakenly replaced a bunch of stuff without stopping the leaks, until I discovered the real problem; the O ring seal that the water reservoir sits in located under the reservoir where it mates with the machine. Easy to replace and cheap. No leakage problems since I both replaced the O ring and started the routine of not taking off the water reservoir to fill it, but leaving it in place and filling it from a bottle. That technique does not any wear at all on the seal ring and so it won't leak in the future.
The item is called a "Saeco-water inlet valve gasket" , has a part number of NM05.006 and costs $7.50. I purchased it from Services Unlimited located at 650 N. Cannon Ave. WH-305, Lansdale PA 19446; phone 215-361-7000 Fax 215-361-7434, e mail granita@rcn.com but you can find it at any authorized dealer, I am sure. I ordered two and with shipping the cost came to $21.50.
You can request a fax with a parts diagram and listing, which I found most helpful in diagnosing issues and see where stuff goes..
Hope this helps you..

I've got an easier fix than that. My Saeco was leaking around the tank. After I read this I went looking for the "O" ring. Couldn't find the "O" ring ...but did notice a coffee bean in one of the little holes that the plastic legs fit into. It was in the perfect place to barely keep the tank raised while engaging the open water valve. "O" ring $7.50...finding a bean was the problem...priceless!!!

I've got an easier fix than that. My Saeco was leaking around the tank. I read this about the "O" ring...and it DID help! I couldn't find the "O" ring BUT I did find a coffee bean in one of the holes that the little plastic leg sits in. It was keeping the tank raised just enough to flood the water out of the pressed valve. "O" ring...$7.50...finding a coffee bean and digging it out...priceless.

Make sure to not over-fill. There is a notch cut into the water tank lower than the rim. I went through the same thing until I noticed this notch.

Saeco Vienna superautomatica leaks when making coffee

This is an easy fix for a 14$. The seal at the water tank connection is worn. Take the water tank off. There is a round flat topped plastic retainer. Pry off the retainer (comes off easily). You will see a black round o-ring made to fit on a channel. Remove the o-ring and replace. Two minutes and you are without water leaks. I do not remove the tank to fill anymore, I use a pitcher instead. Part number 3 in this diagram.

Saeco Vienna coffee when the machine starts the coffee dispensing

Is it leaking only when brewing coffee ?

If not I would check the seal under the water tank (Part #NM05.006)

If so, I would check the following:

1- The water input port on the back of the brew unit (looks like a smoke pipe) might be clogged

2- The o-ring of the water tubes coming in and out of the boiler.

Check the little chamber under the white plastic valve behind the brew unit, that might be blocked with coffee.
