Ok when getting into wiring and impeadances on car audio one must be careful the wrong impeadance with the wrong amp causes overdriving and it will kill your equipment. check the user manual to see if the amp is 2 ohm stable if it is dictated as stable @ 2 ohm there are multiple ways of wiring the speakers to get the load you want i highly recommend 12volt.com

Is it possible to bridge 4 of the channels into 2

Yes it is....you must find out how many ohm stable the 4 channel amp is first. If you "bridge" 4 channels into 2 channels, it will cut the ohm load in half... In other words if you have two 4 ohm subwoofers... And your amp is only 4 ohm stable... And you wire them parallel + to +.... - to - on a dual voice coil sub..... You could fry your amplifier. You can google wire diagrams for the exact equipment you have. It will show you how to "not" fry your nice expensive amps.. Good luck

I have Sony xm-2165gtx amp 165 watt rms x 2 at 4 ohm 200 watt x 2 at 2 ohm 400 watt x 1 bridge output at 4 ohm stereo or bridge mono output 4 ohm stable in bridge mode this mean can't go lower then 4 ohm...

You can't bridge that amp onto a load lower than 4 ohms. So you can't bridge that amp onto two 4 ohm subs. To get the most power out of your subs is easy. Run one channel to one sub and the other channel to the other sub. 165 watts RMS is plenty for most subs.

I need an appropriate speaker for my kenwood amplifier kac-5202

This amp is stable down to 4 ohms bridged at 120 Watts or 2 ohms stereo at 60 Watts X 2. If you are going with the bridged mono hookup just make sure the impedance of your subwoofer is no less than 4 ohms. A good rule of thumb is to be at least double of what your amps rated output power is. So if your amp can put out 120 Watts into 4 ohms then get at least a 240 watt subwoofer.

Do not exceed the rated load for your amp, you will damage it. Here is the datasheet for your amplifier

How should i arrange the wiring on my xm-zr1852 xplod amplifier to get the best performance out of my 12'' audiobahn subwoofers?

it depends on the impedance of the subs-if your subs are dual 4 ohm coils then you can parallel the coils which will give you 2 ohms per sub- you could get max performance from your amp by just wiring the 2 ohm speaker load to each channel of the amp which will hit them with about 200 watts rms each. another way to do it is to wire the coils in series which will make each sub an 8 ohm load and then parallel them together and that will show a 4 ohm load -which you can use to run the amp safely in bridged mode. This will give you exactly the same amount of power to your subs as in 2 ohm stereo will. so with your amp being 2 ohm stable in stereo or 4 ohm stable in bridged mode- those are the numbers you want to hit for maximum"safe" operation

Amplifier loads

Hello ronnieyannon,
A single 4 ohm speaker wired to each channel, like you have them wired, presents a 4 ohm load. And it appears that you have them connected properly. The 401s is only stable to 4 ohms when bridged, so if you were to parallel the 2 4 ohm subs in bridged mode, the load would be 2 ohms and the amp would most likely overheat and go into protection.

I'd wire them the way you have them wired.

Each channel of the amp outputs only 100 watts into 4 ohms. That is adequate for regular full-range speakers, component speakers, mid-range drivers, and even some small subs. But it is a little low on power for most subwoofer applications.

Hope this helps.

Legend Amp hook up manual.

Pretty Straight Forward get a 8 or 4 gauge amp wiring kit.

Run your hot wire to the +12V from the battery make sure to install the supplied inline fuse near the battery don't connect to the battery until installation is complete.

Run the REM to your stereo power ant. Wire. if available.

Run the GND to Metal Chassis Ground keep it as short as possible.

Run the RCA Cable from the back of the Stereo to the RCA Inputs or Low Level on the amp.

This amp is 2 Ohm Stereo Stable which means you can connect 2 (4 ohm) speakers in parallel to each channel or 1 (4 ohm) speaker on each channel or you can connect 1 (4 ohm) Speaker in bridged mode.

There are other speaker configurations you could use but you cannot drop the load below 2 Ohm in stereo mode and no lower than 4 ohm in bridged mode.

Hope this helps

Sony xplod xm-1652z amp

You probably have the output bridged at 2 ohms. This amp is not a 2 ohm bridged stable amp. It is 2 ohm stable only in stereo. That means each channel can be 2 ohms, buts not bridged at 2 ohms.

If you have two 4 ohm speakers that are wired in parallel and then you bridge them, you have a 2 ohm load.

They only safe way to use two 4 ohm speakers is to run one speaker to each channel and then you have a stereo 4 ohm load.

When you use a 2 ohm load you get twice the current draw thru the amplifier as you would with a 4 ohm load. That means that the fuse you are using, the rating the amplifier is designed for, will blow any time you have a big bass hit.

If you are not using a 2 ohm bridged load, and you are using a 4 ohm bridged or something the amplifier is rated for, and you still have this problem, you may have a bad speaker. Even a speaker that will play can sometimes be on the brink of shorting out and causing the amplifier to draw lots more current than it is rated for.

If this is the case, you should go and get your speakers checked and see if they are still measuring at 4 ohms or at least close to it. Most speakers will measure a little lower than what the are rated. It is not unusual for a 4 ohm speaker to measure at 3.5 ohms, but if it is less than that, you problem is the speaker. Even if the speaker still plays.

I hope this was helpful for you, if you require any further help just ask.

If you did find that this was helpful in solving your problem, I would really appreciate a good rating.
Thanks and have a great day,
Dave
