Question about Dell Latitude 830 Notebook
I am a technician for a company, and one of the clients spilled chocolate milk on his work notebook Latitude D830. I cleaned the system up, and miraculously, it still works! Though, there IS one problem.. The battery, unfortunately does not charge. The power options say it IS, but it stays around 35% power. When I plug in the adapter, the battery light flashes for about 30 seconds, and stops. So, the computer detects the battery, but is unable to put power into it. I tried another battery in it, and the same problem occurred. The only thing I can figure is that the part(s) of the motherboard that controls the charging process of the battery has/have been damaged, and I would like to know how it works, so that maybe I can fix it. Where would I find these/this part(s), and how do they work?
You would need to get that part sodered, usually the charging parts or contacts on the laptop are sodered onto the power supply which is in turn sodered onto the mobo. Try cleaning the contacts inside the case as well as where the battery is.
