Question about GE 24 in. GSD2000Z Built-in Dishwasher
I have a GE Potscrubber dishwasher that I rarely use, but when I tried to use it recently, it just hummed but nothing else happened. When I tried to manually move the dial, water started to come in just past the Rinse and Hold setting but it would not pump the water out.
I have a portable that had the same problem. I called a repairman and he turned a fan blade on the motor. Mine is located on the right side about 12" in. It gets hung up when it is run often enough. If your problem is the same is mine all you have to do is turn the blade and it works like a charm. Hope this helps.

With nothing displaying and only the humming sound, it appears that the main controller card (PCB) has most likely failed.
If it were my dishwasher, I would add a pitcher of water (more than two big glasses full), close the door and start a cycle and listen at the drain. The first thing a dishwasher does is run the pump to empty any standing water before it fills up. If you hear that water drain, (and can see that is has drained from inside the dishwasher) it is not as broken as I think it is.
BUT, this dishwasher should be displaying something from the moment you press the power button.
Please post back with what you find and decide you do. OK?

A humming sound can be a failing wash motor (that drives the water pump) or it can be as simple as a blockage in the the pump area beneath the lower spray arm, under the filter.
Remove the spray arm and the filter top (screws will need to be removed)
Use a flashlight and inspect all over the sump area for debris that is blocking/jamming the impeller area. Reasemble and test with a short cycle.
If the dishwasher continues to make the same humming, it is time to replace the wash pump.
Good Luck! Post back here if you would like more guidance.

SOURCE: GE POTSCRUBBER 1200 DISHWASHER
Hi. My GE Potscrubber 1200, Model GSD120055, stops mid-cycle and does not drain the water. It stops on Rinse and Hold.
I can nudge the dial and the dishwasher completes its cycle, so the drain and pump are okay. Is the problem with the timer or something else ? Please help, O Wizards of Washing.
