Does the emachines T3990 have a built in sound card

I Installed a DVD/RW unit and need to find out if the pc I have has a built in soundcard? I am not getting any sound out of the DVD/RW unit.
I have a sound cable that connects to the back of the DVD unit but can't find any type of plug that the other end will go to. Do you have a solution that may help me get sound? I am pretty good with printers/copiers but need to learn alot about my own PC.
Thanks!!

I get sound out of the CDRW drive that came installed with it from the factory. I do not see a cable from the CDRW other than the flat cable and the power cable.

Hello. Now these type of computers have been known to have the sound go out on them. What you can do is get a soundcard and install it. Then run your speakers off of the sound card.

Unless you have problems, your power-supply is totally adequate.
Probably, even a 300W power-supply would be sufficient
(one DVD-ROM, one disk-drive, one video-card).

I have no audio and it wont install.

One of the reason of this is your sound card isn't properly installed. check it up and fix it by reinstalling the soundcard hardware.

MY SOUND CARD

Hi, you should have the driver CD for soundcard as it is shipped with the new sound card - if not you must download the driver for the soundcard not for the Chipset of the computer. Look at the soundcard - normal the driver manufacturer and model is shown on the "biggest" chip fixed on the soundcard - donwload the driver as shown on the chip of the soundcard from the manufacturer and install. (ensure you select driver for you operating system)

Hope this help.

No sound in speakers emachine

External or interal speakers?
Check control panel under sound to see if mute is checked on sound card.
Check system icon control panel, hardware, device manager to see if sound card is installed correctly? ! means not installed properly.
