Question about Kenmore 63032 Electric Dryer
The dryer used to start if you held the start button down long enough however now it cuts out prior to starting
SOURCE: GE dryer starts but..... stops
What you describe is either a failed evenheat board or a failed motor relay.
Please post the complete model number from the machine and I can help you narrow it down. There should be a wiring diagram inside the console with voltage checks also.

Hi Missy K, this is a even heat dryer, sounds like you are going to need the even heat board. This is not hard to install, it's under the consol on the left side. Your part number is 3976627, if you go to repairclinic.com and enter the part number it will give you a picture of it and the price. This is a classic syptom of the even heat board failure. Catriver.

there is a holding contact at the motor wiring, check the schematics and trace that holding contact. it should hold the motor running as soon as it starts.

most likely the evenheat board is bad, but it could be the motor relay, get under the console and check the trouble shooting wiring diagram. there are several checks you can do to narrow it down.
