I fixed this problem by enter "0000" (four Zeros) as the passkey, it accepted it and it didnt ask me to enter the passkey on the remote device ie the headset ,which is handy as it doesnt have any number keys ;)
it then added the device and it stayed on teh "added devices" list!

You have the controller set in "pairing mode." This enables the controller to be paired with the X-Box. Either press the sync button on the X-Box to pair it, or take the batteries out of the controller to clear it.
that logitech "G540" model does'nt exist. it could be "F540".
from the logitech support site: "Since the F540 is not designed as a USB audio device for PCs, not all system-based functions may work correctly.", "You'll have to select the F540 as a USB audio device for input and output within your operating system.".
Have you tried directly with the 3,5 cable? it work? wich o.s. are you using? do you select the audio device as audio input/output in windows sound setup? eventually disable all the audio devices except the headset one.
if none of that works and the product is under warranty i suggest to contact the customer care. in case you can try to sell it to a PS3 owner. bye
one thing is to make sure that that ps3 is set to the right setting for display it might be set to HD or RCA but you need to make sure it is set right.there is a way to reset the display only with out seeing it but i don't rember it you can find in on sonys web site
I have the same problem since Sony did an upgrade in sep 2010. I called INTEC at 1-866-557-5596 in Canada and after many calls and all sorts of excuses they sent me a new wheel. But I have the same problem as they send me the same unit. I also called Sony and they claim that INTEC is no longer compatible and that they are not responsible.
