Question about Kitchen Ranges

5 Answers

I have a commercial Bunn CDBC coffee maker and its acting funny, in other words, after brewing a couple of pots, it turns off on its own and does not start. After maybe two more days, it decides to make maybe four pots this time. Before it turns off, the machine becomes very hot as though it's overheating. Please advice, Thank you. Brian

First of all you need to check fuses that blows when excessive heat is detected,

Also chance main power switch could also be faulty . Heating element turns off when excessive temperature is sensed . The problem could be heating element .

There is a thermal shutoff switch. It is faulty, or it is working properly, and turning the system off because it is overheating via a faulty thermostat regulator.

Replace the Regulator if the temp is getting too hot. This will solve your problem.

Check the power cable and the power plug, the most likely is that you have a bad solder joint inside the machine.

Check your heating element inside the water tank and make sure that the element is not full of lime or calcium build up. Also make sure that the tempurature control does not have lime and calcium build up.

Why won't my bunn coffee maker turn on

You should check to insure that the tank inside the machine is full of water. Pour in 1 pot of water at a time until you get water to come out of the brew basket. If you haven't done any internal damage it should be ready to brew a pot of coffee inabout 20 minutes.

Coffee tastes funny. does machine need to be cleaned?

Yes, in this type of machine, put a little bit of vinegar and water in top and run a couple times through machine, with of course filter basket on, not with filter or coffee, and brew a couple times. Use 25percent to water ratio, do this twice then do it again, twice with only mineral water. Then make a pot normal, and let me know how coffee taste now. Thanks Mr Bean Man

Bunn-O-Matic (800) 352-2866

They call it "Vacation Switch"

I work on commercial equipment (including BUNN), and they don't use any names like this one in the commercial line.

I have a bunn coffee maker that when it brews the first pot is hot after that the next one is not. It is the coffee maker that has two warmers on top. i didnt know if would be the heating element or...

While this brewer does have a reservoir that keeps a couple of pots worth of water hot for brewing you can get a cooler second pot if you brew directly after. You should hear the brewer heating up after brewing. Try waiting until it is back to temperature before re-brewing. If that heating takes more than a few (3-4) minutes then you probably have a problem with the heating element and the water is only being heated by the "keep warm" heater.

Will not percolate. Water is poured, it heats up, no coffee brew

Bunn Home brewers don't perculate. They work the same way that commercial brewers do. Fillit with water, let it heat for about 20 minutes, then put your filter and coffee grounds in the funnel, pour a pot of water into the machine, put the pot on the warmer, and let the water run through. Then enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee.

My tim hortons coffee maker is not brewing as quickly..s there a wayto clean it

Make a 1/2 pot 50/50 mixture of cold water and white vinegar then run it through the machine in normal brewing fashion. Place a clean filter in the brewing cup to catch the white deposits that are removed. Allow the mixture to cool, then repeat the process several times while using the same filter. Finally, run several pots of fresh water through to work out the taste of the vinegar. Repeat whenever the brewing time seems to be excessive.

Water over filling pot

There is a brew timer on the left side of your machine near the heater switch. you need to remove an access panel to access it. turn this down a little, let the water heat up, then try another brew. Adjust as needed, brewing another pot between each setting.
