Touch Screen is NOT working after I dropped it...

I dropped the iPhone and now the lower part of the touch screen is not working? How can I or what should I do it get it to work? I set a password on the phone and one the #'s to unlock is (0) zeroa and it does not allow me to unlock it either. Can anyone help me with this situation. I will really appreciate it.

I don't know if a drop was related to mine or not, but, yes, the bottom 1/8" or so of the screen has ceased to be responsive to touch. It is amazing how many apps depend on that area...

As this is a hardware issue, you will have to bring it in for service.

Please don't open it up yourself, as this will void the warrenty.

if you wish to return the ipod for service, you can find a local apple reseller by calling apple on 1-800-MY-APPLE

Or you can visit an apple retail store by visiting http://www.apple.com/retail/

Hope this helps.

Nathan.

I dropped my iphone on the floor and the screen is cracked alot and the touch will not work but if i take off the screen will the touch work

No it won't work, the front glass is the digitizer (touch screen) which allows you to carry out touch or swipe actions to operate the phone. This is fixed or bonded to the lcd which gives you the display. Depending on which model and how competent you are then they are an easy and cheap diy fix, if not then you will have to look for a local repairer.

IPhone touch screen not working

I have the same exact problem. I dropped mine, and it landed half on concrete, half on a piece of foam board, and when I got to shut mine off, it will slide to power off, but will not slide to do anything else. Everything works perfectly fine, people calling me, texting me, nothing is broken or cracked, I can't even unlock mine, it's stuck and it's making me very upset! I want an answer as to what I can do and or can't do.

Iphone lower part keyboard not working

The iPhone's capacitive touch screen doesn't have the concept of calibration.
To fix the problem you're experiencing, I suggest trying each of the following options:
  1. Hard reset of the phone by holding the Home and Sleep buttons for 10 seconds.
  2. "Reset All Settings" from Settings ? General ? Reset.
  3. "Erase All Content and Settings" from Settings ? General ? Reset.
  4. If your phone is still under warranty or covered by AppleCare, bring it to Apple and they will repair or replace it for you.
  5. If not covered, then there are guides for replacing the front panel (first-gen iPhone), which contains the digitizer.

Problem

I hope for your sake I'm wrong but i'm pretty sure this is a hardware problem, not software.

You will need to take it to a shop and get the touch screen changed.

If your tech savvy its quite easy to change yourself, the hardest part is getting the iphone open. If you can do that without damaging the case, the screen is easy to change. You can get them cheap on ebay. Just go to ebay and search iphone touch screen replacement.

India Iphone touch screen (bottom portion) not responding

As you have already said your iPhone has been tampered with, you have an Unlocked iPhone which renders the warranty Void, even if you put the phone back to defaults once the iPhone is in Apple's hands the software tools they run against your phone will tell them it has been hacked and you will get no support.
