I dont recommend using aluminum foil buy the correct fuses they arent exspensive. any auto parts store should carry most types. first check all of your power connections then check your ground connections if all looks and seems secure check the physical wire connections on the speakers. make sure the remote wire is connected properly. if none of this works try a different audio source to check the speaker itself

sound like the resistors in the amp itself have fried this could be due to several issues. like i mentioned before i would never recommend using aluminum foil for any fuse replacement. It is possible that by using the foil you allowed a current which was improper and or shorting out to pass through the safety compliance ordinates of the amplifier itself. if this is the case which it does sound viable. being that you hooked it up to a different system and still got no sound check your subs on that system and if they work you have basically answered this question on your own. process of elimination wise anyways.

Maybe a new amp is in order.

a neat trick to try is if your looking for a new amp and happen to wonder in a stereo shop ask them for outdated or last years inventory and see if they can offer any deals. products are still good just not the latest out.

    Hope this fixya.

Spkrs will sometimes be intermittent if the installer has twisted the frame a little or tighten down too much.Remove the spkr and see how it works when it is not mounted. If it still is not work right, then it is probly defective.Good luck and please rate this answer, thanks.

Is my amp powerful enuff for woofer

That amp should work fine for that sub, but you should make sure that the amp has a good power system going to it, and the box for your sub is the right one. Either one of those things could cause problems if not done correctly.

Volfenhag ZX8300 on with radio, off with cd or mp3 player

You're using the wrong control wire. You're likely using a wire marked antenna control. You need to use the one marked amp control. They are both blue.

Subs stopped working & protect light on the amp is red...

well at this point i would say it is both,, the subs fried because your amplifier passed dc [direct current] and fried the voice coils on your subs....return them if they are under warranty,, the amplifier sound like you either operated it beyound its specifications or it has a defective output stage allowing it to pass or leak turned the voice coils into the equivelent of the runners in a toaster oven....when an amp passes dc it is going to do so to whatever speakers you hook to either bring it to a shop to be fixed/ return it to place purchase for exchange or throw it away.....or you will continue to experience the same problems....I am the amp goes into protection when it detects a short...[ the short is produced by the amp and it is detecting its own fault and putting it in to protection after it BURNS up your drivers....
