It you install your Olympus transcription pedal and it is working OK you can copy sound files into the appropiate folders and work on them, BUT the files must be a format the Olympus software can read: DS2, DSS and WAV files. MP3 files may also work. Philips devices may not do these. WAV is a universal format, but is not compressed so takes up more space.
It should be straight forward
This is a know issue of the initial releases of DSS Pro 5. Downloading the update (using the Update option inside the software) will not really fix it, but will at least give you an option to override the Locked status. This "fix" appears from update 5.0.5
is the machine ran all electronic meaning no moving parts
it is electronic and some mechinical moving parts
if i was to guess i am sure it is the drive belt for the machine, you maybe able to contact the manufacture and find out how much the belt is and do it your self, you will neeed the book on that type of repair too, but if you take somee where they do that type of work you will be paying them money for the products materails and belt and they keep every thing and yoou get charged for everything, like the manual, belt, or belts, computer time if they need it, shipping and handling fees, shop fee.
and than it maybe cheaker to buy a new one without anytype of moving parts and than you only have to were about power source.
several solutions you can try.. first of all, convert it to wave and try to play it (file. convert to wave)
if it is for all dss files, then the program may have to dll files that updated and will not work now
depending on operating system... windows xp media edition maybe the cause would be my first guess and there would be no fix for it...
2nd guess... service pack 3.... try to uninstall the program and reinstall it... and if you have service pack 3... go thru control panel and uninstall service pack 3 if you have it
