Question about Fujitsu Siemens LIFEBOOK A3040 PC Notebook

1 Answer

Fujitsu Lifebook A3040 performs random commands.

A3040 seems to have a loose connection near the space bar/touchpad. When I'm typing, it occasionally picks up a keystroke combination I have not made and performs the operation. When using webmail, it has sent the message when not directed; it has moved the cursor and inserted into a previous paragraph during word processing; it has deleted entire email messages while they were being composed. I don't believe there is any foreign matter among the keys.

SOURCE: Adding memory to Fujitsu LIfebook Series A3040

You remove the access cover which is where the power button is right under the screen by sliding it to the left until it comes off. Then you push the keyboard up to the back of the laptop until it will lift up exposing another cover. You remove the second cover and that is where the ram is located.Ram is under the keyboard.

You need to re-enable it. Hold Fn and hit the F5 or whatever key is appropriately assigned to the touchpad. This should enable it for you.

Driver for Synaptics TouchPad on Fujitsu Lifebook S6120.

Just been to Fujitsu site and located your model in driver downloads. It appears that yours is an Alps Touchpad. When the list of drivers appears you need to use the scroll bar within the window in order to see the touchpad driver download.

Wont completley load up just ends up to a blackscreen

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
