If you have any sound card install try to downlaod from their website. eg, If your laptop installed with soundblaster, then download the drivers from creative soundblaster website.

The fastest way to do it is by inserting the operating system install disk and select clean install and format the hard drive from there you don't have to install the operating system its a utility built in but if you format your hard drive it will erase windows or what operating system you use.
if this system has not be formatted completely earlier then you can reformat it without a cd.dell systems come with an option of pc restore.reboot the system and after pressing power button press ctrl and then press F11 it will give you the restore option and this will take you back to the original setting.but don't forget to back up your data before formatting.
this message means that no operation system instaled or just the boot system file
it could be that you had a Virus you need the original cd that comes with the laptop if you dont have better to take it to a technican to try to fix the system files
Yes, a reformat wipes the disk clean. There are special programs for this. The Dell recovery CD's (DVD's) will have the program. The usual command is "Format C: /v" without the quotes. The /v tells the program to verify every sector as it formats. Back up every thing that you need first as there are no second chances.
Sound quality depend upon the format of the songs.Because lots of songs are compressed by software.Your laptop is ok. or set the equlizer of the song or install VLC player for increasing sound quality.
