May just be a defective display PCB, byt more often than not, its the more expensive main primary PCB. Ideal actualy modified this PCB, and has a pre-fix of VF on it, and is orange in colour

Thermostat is not switching on boiler.

There are many ways for a hot water boiler to be controlled. One of them is to have an 'on-board' aqua-stat that cycles the boiler burners to maintain water temp set-point and the space thermostat controls only the circulating pump. There is no way of knowing if yours is set up this way, but try turning the thermostat on and off and see if the circulating pump cycles with it.

Volumns can be written on boiler control but with the limited information provided we can only guess.

Came home after a weekend away and central heating not working. Programmer not turning heating on (honeywell st6400c) but the boiler (a sentima ht 60l) looks like it has a fault. The mains light us on but...

Possible cause of lockout: boiler low water level. If you have a combination temperature/pressure gauge, it should read approximately 12 psi when the boiler is cold. When it runs, it will be approximately 22 psi. If the pressure is low feel the inlet water supply piping. Open the manual feeder valve. The cold water coming in will verify that there is no obstruction to the water flow. You may have "dirt" in the line. You may have a defective water pressure valve or check valve. Another thought. Make sure your AIR SEPARATOR is functional. Remove the cap and depress the valve. You should see water. If air comes out, continue to"bleed" the AIR SEPARATOR. You may haven't to replace the A/S.

If this a honeywell valve you may need to change the motor in side the valve , sounds like its lost some of it power to move the inside of the valve to y postion .

Ideal boiler no heat to radiators but hot water still working

check the divertor head and valve.

take head off(remove pi at back,or side pin) and push pin in valve when calling for ch,if it works then the head has gone.

No heat!

Ger, do you get your hot water off the same boiler and it that working alright? How many zones and are they controled by zone valves (little boxes mounted on the pipes) or circulators (small pumps)?

Boiling water sounds can indicate hard water deposits in the boiler or that your aquastat is set too high allowing the water to heat up higher than it should. Check your boiler guage and let me know what temperature you are recording. Get back to me with the answers to my questions, we'll figure it out.
