This sounds like a breaker has tripped. Turn off both breakers, then turn back on. Next, check in the control panel and see that all of the wires are still connected. While you are in there, look for fuses that are sometimes present. Some models have those. This sounds most likely that you have dropped a leg of power.

Maytag gas oven takes a long time heat and smells of gas.

Important---if you smell gas--I'd be very very careful---could be your control valve or lines to it are malfunctioning or leaking. You might have to call in an expert repair person. How old is the oven? Some preliminary checks you might make are: Do you have a pilot lite or preheaters on the unit? If a pilot lite, make sure it is lit. An unlit pilot lite could sometimes give the smell of gas if malfunctioning. If so, there is is a procedure for lighting the pilot lite--check your user or installation manual. If you have pre-heaters make sure they are lighting up. Normally you have one for the top broiler burner, and one for the bottom oven burner. Check your preheater(s) by selecting either broiler or oven and visually checking to see if they are warming up. After 15 seconds or so, they should be turning bright red. You will see some light coming from them. Check one pre-burner at a time. If they do not come on quickly, shut off the associated valve. Again, be very, very careful with any buildup of gas. It could cause an explosion. At the least it could make you sick.

Thermador oven won't heat up

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying, I just received an email saying you were asking me a direct question...I will tell you what I know based on my experience with Thermador (extensive) and the description of your post. This sounds like a possible hi-limit thermostat tripped scenario.

I don't know if you know where it is or how to check it, or if this is the case with both upper & lower ovens...but they are independent of each other on the SC302T, so if you can reply and elaborate I'll b glad to help in any manner I can. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Regards,
Macmarkus :)

Oven tempeture lower than setting by 100 degrees on 350. even after pre-heat cycle. slightly more accurate at higher temps. i have a regular oven thermometer to check it. it was working well until...

Hey-  Let's fix this thing.  Several things can affect indicated/actual temperature.  The temp probe should test ok across it's lead wires at around 1100ohms. The computer usually shows a fault if the circuit is open, but won't show a code if it hasn't failed completely.  The next suspect is the igniter for the oven burner.  These can become weak with age, affecting gas flow to burner. Testing igniter is not really possible when it comes on and the part is usually replaced.  The regulator is next in line, occasionally causing variable flow to burner.  As you can see, quite a bit to consider.  On site diagnostics is usually required, but this gives you a start.  Installation instructions are available for all parts.     Please acknowledge this post if my info and time spent helps you.  Have more info if needed.  Thanks- Ed

Oven won't pre-heat

This is a failed oven temp sensor. the control is not receiving a proper resistance signal from this sensor at this time. the control will shut down the unit if this is the issue. check the oven temp sensors connections form the control to the sensor housing for loose or worn contacts, if the wiring is ok, replace the temp sensor.

The Taylor oven thermometer you bought is decent at best. It is most likely the sensor inside the oven. Has your clock displayed any fault codes? F, followed by a number? Changing the sensor will probably correct the problem.

Oven Temp

After it drops temperature, how do you get it back to the desired degrees? It sounds like the thermostat isn't keeping up.
