I think I'm hacked. How to remove unknown from system configuration? Unchecking & rebooting didn't do it. desperate!

What do you mean hacked? Can you describe what's happening? I can tell what kind of malware you have if you describe it and we'll fix it based on that. Until then, use and run a full system scan for malware.

How to remove virus from dell laptop without using any antivirus

I'm confused , why not use a Anti Virus? If you want to remove you will have to make time to install a Anti Virus. The alternative will require more time. A Full System Recovery. A new Laptop should have a Trial Version of Anti Virus, run a full scan. OR download Anti Virus and Anti Malware at FILEHIPPO: You can find many freeware and shareware programs. If you don't have time, take it to a qualified computer tech and pay the person to remove it.

Hi stevencha973...
It sounds like you have a virus/worm/trojan or other nasty in your computer...

To remove a virus, trojan, worm, etc from your it the EASY way...let someone else do it for you.
Start your computer, as the computer is starting keep tapping the F8 Key.
This will start the computer in the Safe Mode.
Once in the safe mode go to the following webage below and download, install, and run Microsoft Safety Scanner for FREE.
Once you run the Microsoft Safety Scanner 9it may take quite a while depending on the size of your hard drive) it will remove all the virus's,trojans, worms, etc it finds, if it does not completely remove them all you will be given a chance to chat with a Microsoft Professional thru a pop open window and he will take control of your computer (with your permission) and finish removing all the rest of the virus's, trojans, or worms that are on your computer for FREE!! Can't beat FREE!!

REd shield on task bar keeps popping up telling me I have all kinds of vriuses on my computer and asks if I want to fix

You have malware on your computer, more than likely a variant of the "Antivirus 2009" type. Download Malwarebytes using a different computer onto a disk or a usb key. If you cannot or do not have another pc, reboot your pc, when it reboots hit the f8 key repeatedly, the boot menu will come up and boot into "safe mode with networking" this will enable you to download the software. Here is the link:

After you install it run the quick check and remove what it finds (I would review what it found prior to deleting), then reboot into normal mode and run a full check using the MBAM tool. This may find more malware, same thing applies. If you do an antivirus please run that too, it can run at the same time. You can also download this Microsoft tool to help remove any other malware at

My laptop toshiba satellite 1405 S151 has a virus

Since you are almost struck even with an antivirus. I would recommend you to try an OS restore to a good know previous restore point. This could help because the virus might have affected the registry keys and its manual repair is very tedious job.
Please come abck and rate my solution if it turns to be helpful for you, or also if you need more clarification. Thnx

Little red shield keeps telling me I have a security problem

You have a Rouge Anti-Virus malware, this is a virus do not download it will make it worse, the idea is to take over your computer and force you to buy the antivirus program which is actually just a list of places to download free virus removal software, All is not lost, if you have Virus software do a scan now and try to find it, if not download AVG Free Anti-Virus and that will take care of it.These people are from Russia and once they get your credit card number they will try to empty your bank. Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star

Computer is infected with viruses

Blue screens as a result of infection mean the virus has corrupted the operating system. You can fix it by doing an operating system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. Depending on the virus, this may only be a temporary fix. If this turns out to be a temporary fix, then the sure way to fix it is to completely wipe the hard drive, completely reformat using NTFS, and reload the operating system, which I would recommend. If you have any problems during or after the reload, then the virus damaged the hard drive and it will need to be replaced.
