Check the receptacle you burner plugs in to. There are only three items to a burner. The switch, supply power. The receptacle where the element plugs into and of course the burner itself. You say you replaced the burner and has electric up to the element. How are you testing this voltage? Perhaps you are only reading 110 volts and your burner needs 220 volts to operate. Double check these item s and let me know if I can help further.

Waiting to hear from you,
Eric Campion

I checked the voltage and I am only reading 35 volts the others read 230 and are working fine

• Unplug the unit and gain access to the rear of the range and then remove whatever necessary to gain access to the infinite switches (burner switches) There are five wires going to the switch. One is marked L1 another L2. Reading with a voltage meter, you should have 220 volts across these two terminals. Turn the switch on and read terminals H1 & H2. You should have 220 volts across these two terminals. Do You?

• Mark Nielsen Apr 09, 2013

No I don't there is a reading of 20 volts,L1&L2 do have 220,the infinite switch looks burnt around one of the terminals, replacing it may fix the problem

• Got a model number and brand and I will get you a part number for the infinite switch. Is that for the large or small burner? Eric

I have a frigidaire electric range. I believe that i have to replace the receptacle to one of the heating elements. The old one cracked. I know they have replacement kits. How do I install them and is it a pretty basic fix?

### Main oven not heating up , fan running ,temp light on but no heat

I suspect that the oven element has failed, to check this, remove cover at rear of oven compartment, there you will see the round oven element, it should feel hot after turning oven on to heat, if it is cold, replace it.

### After connecting a drain line to the pressure relief valve of my MR85245 water heater, I now have water leaking badly out of the heating element door.

Turn off the electricity.
Turn off the water valve going into tank.
Open a bathtub spout to let hot water pressure off the tank.
Check top of tank for any leaks.
Open the top access panel and see if element is leaking.
Open bottom access panel and see if lower element is leaking.
The reduced pressure on the tank will slow the leak.

If element is the problem, you can squeak by for a while by turning on the hot water heater only when you need hot water.
Order the 'Marathon MR85245 replacement element' online
http://www.gpconservation.com/rheem/marathon-sp213670-titanium-4500w-lower-element
These elements may be available locally, but they are not the same as 'ordinary' tank-type electric heater elements that you buy at the hardware store.
Buy more than 1 element because the Marathon elements have problems.
One of the reported problems with marathon elements is the high price of stainless steel replacement elements.
Drain tank.
Replace element.

Lower element will always test 120V to ground since thermostats turn off one hot wire.

Listed below are suspects in order of ease.

1) Check that hot water is not running out of TP valve and down into a drain.
This will cause water heater to run all the time but not be able to keep up.

2) Test elements before replacing anything:

3) Test electricity to water heater:

### Hi. when we turn our electric fan oven on it cuts off the electricity, tripping the circuit breaker when it begins to get hot, ie after about 5 mins. Its a belling oven. Any help much appreciated.

It sounds like the oven element is probably causing the problem, it is more thal likely the element is breaking down as it gets hotter.
My advice would be to replace the element, this is located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.

### We have a hotpoint cooker UY46, our electric tripped the cooker off and , now the nob and grill works but the bottem/main oven is turning on and the fan is circulating but not getting hot ? please help ;(

You need to replace the element. Very easy job remove the back plate from inside the oven (4 screws) and you will see a circular element held in place by one screw in the centre of the fixing plate. Remove the fixing screw then remove two wires and refit new element job done.

### Replaced element and now dryer too hot - vent is clear

Hi, Check the element again. It sounds like the element has relaxed and shorted out against the metal housing. The squeak might be the rear bearing cup. You can check and see if it needs grease while you have the drum out.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

Remove inner rear cover of oven, you will see the element there, remove, and replace.

### My electric oven is not generating heat

Without a doubt, it is the element that needs to be replaced, it is located behind the rear panel inside oven compartment.
Thanks.
