Question about RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 Smartphone

1 Answer

Ringing sound, speakerphone, completely lost

My cell stopped ringing. The only way I know I have a call is thru vibrate and if the bluetooth is in my ear vibrating as well.

The speakerphone does not work. Any music cannot be heard.

I have taken out battery, rebooted, etc. The phone did not get wet. It did not fall either.

PHONE DOES NOT RING

Hi,

This might be due to the settings....

Ringer settings
To change the ring type and ring tone
1.
On the Phone screen, tap Menu > Options > Phone tab.
2. In the Ring type list, choose whether to be notified of incoming calls by a ring, a vibration, or a combination of both.
3. In the Ring tone list, tap the sound you want to use

You can find more information at the manual located at the below location.

http://www.htc.com/support/pdf/htctouchdual/NIKE_HTC_English_Manual_16-KEY.pdf

Refer the pages 33 & 83

I hope it will resolve your problem...

Completely swith off, then switch on. Wait HTC takes a bit more time to respond. Put on vibration mode or put in full ring and alarm mode. This should work.

Does not ring - only vibrates

A couple of solutions to avoid doing a full software re-install.

Check your profile settings - From home screen, Profile, Advanced, Active, Edit, Phone - Check both in and out of holster to make sure the tone is active in both. If not change the settings.

Let me know how that works - there are a couple of things to look at and suggest before a re-install.

Nokia e50 wont notify me when i recieve a new text message

Hello there! thanks for using Fixya.com!

Try the following instructions, to personalize your Nokia E50!
Profiles
Warning: In the offline profile you cannot make or receive any calls, or use other features that require network
coverage. Calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. To make calls,
you must first activate the phone function by changing profiles. If the device has been locked, enter the lock code.

Select Menu > Tools > Profiles.
You can adjust and customize the ringing tones, alert tones, and other device tones for different events, environments, or caller
groups.
To customize a profile, scroll to the desired profile in the list, and select Options > Personalise.
Define the following settings:
Ringing tone — Select a ringing tone from the list, or select Tone downloads to open a bookmark folder containing a list of
bookmarks for downloading tones using the browser. To listen to the selected tone, select Play. If you have two alternate
phone lines in use, you can specify a ringing tone for each line.
Say caller's name — Activate the text-to-speech ringing tone feature. When someone from your contacts list calls you, the
device sounds a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the contact and the selected ringing tone.
Ringing type — Select how you want the ringing tone to alert.
Ringing volume — Select the volume level of the ringing tone.
Message alert tone — Select a tone for received text messages.
Or you may still go to this website for more info! http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/nokia_E50

Vibrates and sounds for no reason

Check to see if you have enabled notifiers for coming in and out of cellular coverage, data coverage, bluetooth, etc. I disabled these notifications.

Otherwise try switching the ringing profiles and see if it continues. If it stops after switching profiles, then you know it is something in your selected ring profile.

If it continues, try resetting the device. I would recomend downloading the Blackberry Desktop software to backup your phone. After resetting the phone, see if it vibs and rings randomly (note: no not restore the backup yet).

If it still does, try to update the Blackberry OS software on the phone from the same place you downloaded the BB Desktop software or your cell provider. If it stops, then restore your backed up data. If it starts up again, then it's a setting in your old config.

These are some of the things the cellular provider would do. Hope this helps!

Speakerphone when answering blackberry pearl 8100

I had the same problem. I called T-mobil, my carrier, and they had me take the battery out while the phone was 'on' and put it back in. After the security scan was done, the tech called me back on my cell - problem fixed. (I'm not sure if he did something on his end too, but at least try it your self first!)
