Question about Canon CanoScan 5000F Flatbed Scanner
In the 'Select Source' box I only get the one option of 'Platen' listed. I would like to change this as I need to scan some film but the option isn't there for me to change it. I am running Firefox on a Mac if that makes any difference. Please help!!!
I was able to contact Canon via e-mail about the problem and they acutally responded! :)
Apparently all you have to do is disconnect and reconnect the scanner from the lid. Apparently, because the lid has its own scanning hardware and if your lid and scanner have become disconnected, the software won't give you the negative/positive options. Anyway, did the disconnect and connect thing and it worked!

It makes a big difference just email the manufacturer and explain you are using a Mac.
