Re: Problem with quality of print out of Epson C1100...
Hi, I need to know where the marks are appearing on the print. Do they repeat down the page? If so measure the distance between the top of the first mark to the top of the second mark. Usually it is one of the following.
150mm: it is the PCU drum, take out the PCU and try gently cleaning the drum with a soft cloth, avoid strong/bright light as this will damage the sensitivity of the drum.
51mm: it is the 2nd BTR roller, remove the PCU. Inside the printer at the back you will see a black "foam" roller, gently clean with a soft cloth & try to avoid touching it with your fingers as any grease/oil could cause the symptoms you describe.
82mm or 94mm: these are the rollers in the fuser unit. Allow the printer to cool, open the back top cover. You will need to remove a small white plastic bracket on the L/H side (if it is held by a screw be careful not to drop it into the printer). Next unlock the two levers on the top of the fuser and pull it upwards and out of the printer. clean the orange colored rubber rollers with cloth or an alcohol wipe (screenwipe) and ensure it is dry before refitting.

this is cause of the lens is dirty with toner droping.. open the front cover and on the right side, there is a level for you to pull out.. at the right side of the printer, open the small cover and you will be able to find a cleaner. To clean..pull out the holder few times.. by applying slight pressure..that will clean the bottom lens..and u should be able to print out fine now..
Sounds like you need to clean the laser lens to me. On the R/H side of the printer is a small panel, just pull this off. Now open the front cover, on the R/H side is a lever, pull this forward. Now look again inside the panel you removed earlier, there is a green "stick". Just pull this backwards and forwards a few times to wipe the lens clean. Put everything back and try a test print. Good luck.
I also use a Mac, (OSX 10.3.9) does this printer show up in the list when you activate the Printer Setup Utility (PSU) Do you get any error message from the Mac such as Printing Stopped etc. What shows when you click on the PSU after clicking on print etc.
It sounds as though a cartridge is faulty.
To determine which one, the easiest way is to run a page of text/block of colour through in yellow then cyan then magenta. which ever page comes out with the streaks on it will tell you which cartyridge to ditch and replace.
Hope this helps
no this is not a photoconductor problem. your fuser unit is faulty, it is not getting up to the correct temprature to "fuse" the toner to the paper hence why you are able towipe the toner from the page.
Hope this helps
