More than likely you need a pneumatic transducer. It's the part that your air tube connects to and that is what actually makes your machine run.

SOURCE: My Viking 5710 starts to sew without any pressure on foot pedal

Mine does the exact same thing. I think the problem might lie in the cord to the foot pedal. The cord packs into the foot pedal for storage, which forces the cord to to remain bent during storage. I believe the wires in mind became damaged and broken so I took it apart and reconnected the wires at the spot where the connector meets with the wires. But I still don't leave it plugged in if I'm not using it, it could be a fire hazard.

SOURCE: foot pedal not working

yes, it is possible that the foot pedal can go out,, it would be a good
idea to have the foot pedal checked at a repair shop to see for
sure

Testimonial: "I went to sewing machine store today and the pedal checked out as dying, so ordered a new one. Thx again!"

How do I slow my Husqvarna Viking 18 x8 down. It stitches fast and faster, never slow.

To slow down the stitching speed on your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check the machine's manual: First, consult the manual that came with your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8 machine. The manual should have instructions on how to adjust the stitching speed.
  2. Adjust the stitch length: One way to slow down the stitching speed is to adjust the stitch length. A shorter stitch length will slow down the machine's stitching speed. Refer to your machine's manual for instructions on how to adjust the stitch length.
  3. Change the foot pressure: Another way to slow down the stitching speed is to change the foot pressure. Reducing the foot pressure can help slow down the machine's stitching speed. Again, refer to your machine's manual for instructions on how to adjust the foot pressure.
  4. Use a different presser foot: Some presser feet are designed for slower stitching speeds. You can try using a different presser foot to slow down the machine's stitching speed.
  5. Use a speed control pedal: Some machines come with a speed control pedal that allows you to adjust the machine's stitching speed. If your machine has a speed control pedal, try using it to slow down the stitching speed.
If none of these steps help slow down the stitching speed on your Husqvarna Viking 18 x8, you may need to contact a professional technician for assistance.

My Memory Craft 8000wil not adjust the speed. It works for 8 seconds and then just stops. It only goes faster on the high speed setting and then just stops. It will only go two speeds slow and fast.

I believe this machine can operate without the foot pedal attached. Disconnect the foot pedal and try using Start/Stop button. If same symptoms with pedal detached then likely problem is speed control module inside machine.

My Singer Sewing Machine runs too fast. Is there a way to slow it down?

what type of machine do you have. I have two that I operate with buttons and it has a little slide button to speed or slow down I don't know why it should run to fast with a foot pedal because you control the speed with your foot you may want to check to see if there is any trash that has gotten in the foot and somehow not allowing the foot to come back up

Sewing machine slow in forward but fast in reverse

Sounds like maybe brushes in the foot control. Can take it to a repair shop or look for a replacement foot control.

Foot pedal slow +Janome 9700

There is an adjustment on the machine itself that controls how fast the machine is able to run. It is just about the center of the machine, right above the work surface of the machine. It has one arrow, two arrows and three arrows. When the slider is at the one arrow, it is at the slowest speed. You can move that back and forth depending on how fast you want your machine to run. I hope this helps.

My machins slows to a stop

We had the slow issue and it was the foot pedal. But, rather than replace the pedal I disassembled it, cleaned it, then found a little adjustable pot (resistor). I used a tiny screwdriver to adjust the pot and the speed increased. I noticed that there is a slot in the bottom of the pedal housing that is for accessing the pot without disassembling the pedal. My wife sewed a dress after the repair and so far it is working as it used to.
