Re: To Connect AV Cable from Panasonic VCR to Sony 29...
You can either connect the antenna output of the VCR to TV ant in or hookup the audio/video outputs from VCR to audio/video TV inputs. If using the antenna output you need to sellect channel 3 or 4 to view VCR. If using the adio/video lines you need to select the line input on TV to view VCR.

Sounds like the tuner to this TV is faulty. Check all the input connections at its back for firmness. If all are OK, and connected to proper way, and the TV do not receive any channels, the tuner should be replaced. Before replacing it, just check with other inputs. Feed input from any DVD or VCR; and check whether there is picture or not. If there is picture with other inputs, and not with an Ariel connection, surely the the tuner is faulty, and should be replaced. Contact any service technician. Check whether there is an audio out RCA type sockets at the rear side of the TVm marked as Audio Out. If so, you can connect these sockets to any exterenal audio amplifier, by connecting Av cable in between devices, and can listen audio from external speakers. Picture of AV cable is shown. Keep free its yellow pins. Use red and white.
You can connect the DVD player ot your Sony TV in two ways. One way is via AV cable, and the other is S-Video cable. If you use AV cabel, connect the cable's one side ends to output sockets of the DVD player, marked as Audio-L, Audio-R and Video. Connect the other side of the cable's respective ends ot TV's respective sockets, marked as Audio_L, Audio-R and Video. This socket can be located at the back of your TV. If you expects a beetter picture quality, you can connect the TV-DVD by S-Video cable. If you connect it via Audio Video cabe, switch the TV to get AV-1, AV-2 etc, by input selector option. If you connect S-Video cable, Select TV' to recive S-video input via its input selector option. You can do these selections by the help of TVs remote control. OK.
you can ensure the connection and Heater's voltage, start from Flyback transformer ( Heater Pin) to Heater of the CRT tube, whether exist and normal ( Include : check Resistor in Heater area), perhaps there is lost connection for a while and connect gain. There should be 5 Volt AC available. otherwise check the socket of CRT Tube, unplug and clean it. If there is any question you can ask me and clarification with detail result from my solution.

make it sure that the coaxial cable has its own signal! if your tv has a raster (sometimes blue) and it says that the tv is good, but if there's no channel at all then the problem is in digital converter or the connection of the coaxial cable comes from..you can also try auto programing but if the problem still occured then contak your cable subscription channel
