Hi dave. actually you are supposed to fill a dishwasher with hot water only.

the long term fix for your gravity feed water system would be a shallow well pump.

please rate my answer as a fixya ,thanks

Does this machine have a heating, if not how is it supposed to do a 90 degree wash ?

Hi,
You don't actually mention what make and model but all machines have heaters. If it has both hot and cold fill it will heat the water if it is not hot enough, or mix with cold if it is too hot. If it is cold fill only it has to heat the water anyway ;-0)
If you do not think it is heating sufficiently the heating element could be malfunctioning.

Is the indecit wm12x washng amchne a hot or cold water fill?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 13:45 Tues afternoon.

You can easily check by looking at the back where the water pipe or pipes need to be connected. If there is only one inlet then it is a cold fill and the machine will heat the water up itself.
If there are two inlets the hot is normally marked RED and the cold BLUE.
When the hot water is not hot enough for the particular wash, the machine will heat it in the same way as it would heat just cold water. If, however, the hot water is too hot, it will mix in some cold!

Cheers,

John C

My washer will fill with water during the wash cycle just fine, but during the rinse cycle the water just trickles in. The water lines seem to be fine. What else could be causing my problem?

usually the wash is a mix of hot and cold and the rinse is just cold, that said, it is most likely a problem with the cold water supply. check to make sure the cold water valve is all the way open and the hose isn't kinked. If those are ok turn the water supply off and remove the supply lines on the machine side, you will see a screen inside the washer that may be clogged with sediment. If so, just clean it out and put it back together. You may also want to run a wash cycle on cold only to see if it fills slowly for the wash cycle. If it does fill slowly on cold you have low pressure on the cold side.

Will not fill with hot or cold water and is connected

You need good water pressure on hot for these machines to work, gravity fed systems may not be enough. I had to attach a pump to mine to improve the hot water pressure (UK)
Switch over the inlet pipes ie hot to cold and cold to hot and try filling the machine when switched to fill with hot water, (machine will fill will cold). proving the valve is opening and it is a pressure issue on you hot water.

No matter what the temp setting is at it only has very hot water

Your water temp is determined by 2 things. First the hook up to your water supply. If you are able to turn off the hot water valve that feeds the unit and then select a cold water only wash, do you get cold water?? If not then someone hooked up the hoses to 2 hot water feeds. If hot and cold feeds are installed right, the second thing is your computer which monitors the incoming temp through the boards atc control and a thermister. If you select cold, and only get a hum and the cold water valve is on, you may have to clean the screens in the valve of any sediment. If no hum, and no cold, dead solenoid on valve, but that would throw an error code usually. All fills are monitored by the board and usually begin with a hot/wrm mix and then changeover to a monitored cold temp , about 70 degrees.

Hot point aquarius 1100 - does this have a heating element for cold water feed ? or does is need direct hot water feed ? (there is a inlet at back for both hot and cold so presume no heating element ?)

All Hotpoint washers have heater element regardless of whether they are cold fill only, or hot and cold fill.
if 2 connections at rear, then it is hot and cold fill, if only 1 connection, then it is cold fill only.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Mixed Water Fill Causes Issues with Water Pressure

You will have to be specific about what problem the pump is having. It seems to pump ok for everything else. Could the hot solenoid be shorting and sending electricity down the water to bother the pump? Solenoids are not real expensive, try a new one.

Water is not hot enough

What a great energy saver response....run water through another tap in the house in order to fill the pipes with hot water! I have the same problem; cannot even get WARM water in my tub. I have 2 solutions: #1, on my incoming water pipes are regular faucet handles which I am going to attach a hose on the hot side that will reach into the washer and manually mix the temperature. #2, purchase an old refurb washer at a used appliance store that HAS a hot-water setting and hope they will take the "wonderful, new energy saver" as a trade. There are just some times you really need HOT water. I can't imagine washing diapers in cold, although I haven't had to do that in many years. Energy saving factory settings: capital "B", capital "S"!!!
