Fn key on my Asus 1000H seems to be stuck

I am not sure if the key is stuck or if it is somehow turned on permanently. How can I check? And how could I disable the key so as not to use Fn at all. this might solve the problem.
Thanks Rosie Fn key is permanently switched ON and i could not use the keyboard normally. pressing Fn key does not solve the problem either restarting etc.

I tried your solution, but it didn't help me at all. I have to use a keyboard attached to the laptop to make it work.

Press Shift + Numlock key. This will turn off the Fn key and the Fn key will only work when it is pressed, like it is supposed to.

Please rate, thanks!

You can also clean the fn key by removing the keyboard from the pins in the top (look close to the edges of the keyboard you will see small metal hatches) just press and remove as explained in this tutorial.
Then clean that key and voila!

Many laptops have the ability to disable the touchpad by pressing the Function (Fn) key and one of the "F" keys simultaneously. On both my Toshiba and ASUS laptops it's Fn + F9. Look carefully at the F keys - you should see a small symbol that looks like the touchpad.

Asus K50IE FN+F2 does not work, my wifi is permanently turned off

Hi,

Just use an external keyboard to press Fn + F2. Either the Fn key or the F2 key is not working. Make sure that those keys are not stuck or no dust and any particles are accumulated under the key caps.

Hope this helps.

I have somehow managed to switch the touchpad on my laptop off. What is the shortcut to put it on again?

laptops have an FN function key try pressing on FN then press F8 at the same time or if you have a lenovo and it is a g530 upper right hand corner above the keyboard you should see speakr icons and on the roght last Icone that lookslike a box is for your touhpad, press t once if the light on your touchpad turns off then it will already be enable or turned ON but if the light between the touchpad buttons is lit then it means it is turned off,

the FN+f8 is for a lenovo only for other laptops I really am not sure but if you look clsely to the FN bottons on your keyboard they will have little picture showing what they can enable or disable by click FN + whatever botton for a touchpad it will be a box with a slash on it thus enabling anf disabling your touchpad.

Keyboard disabled. somehow disable my keyboard

Did you try Fn+F5? You can usually disable the touchpad but keyboard?
Try to uninstall the keyboard from device manager. Right-click on my computer->Properties->Device manager-Right-click on keyboard(HID keyboard device) and uninstall it. Then reboot your computer if you just disabled it windows will re-install the driver automatically and re-enable it
