Right click on your desktop, select properties. the display properties dialog will come up
click on the "settings" tab at the top-right
click on the "advanced" button in the bottom right.

a screen will come up with many different tabs. on one of them there is likely a screen rotation option and you should select standard landscape or something similar. it may take some digging around in there.

Computer screen is sideways

Sideways Screen: try this
Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + UP Arrow Key, or try Ctrl + Alt + and a different Arrow Key.

If that does not work: Right-click on empty Desktop > Graphics Options > Rotation.

I just need to know how to raise the screen back up. i have tried both buttons in the back and can't get it to release so it will move.

I had to go look at my 19" adjustable Dell monitor to come up with an answer but I have it. The black button on the back of the monitor allows you to remove the base. The silver button on the back of the vertical arm may control latching of screen rotation. Not sure. BUT, I grabbed both sides of the vertical arm at the hinge and just pulled the screen up then shoved it down. There is quite a bit of resistance but that prevents it from shifting position until you want it to. No buttos, no latches. Try it

You have your video card set to rotate the screen after Windows loads.

Go into your display properties using it's control panel and look for the rotate section. Set it back to 0 degrees. Make sure you click apply and then OK, not just OK.

Screen displays vertical, but I need to rotate it back to horizontal

Helop, If your screen image is rotated to the rotated to the right or left and you?re asking how to get it back to normal it depends on your system. For Windows while holding the Ctrl and Alt keys down press the up arrow button. If that doesn?t work then your video card driver probably has a component that controls this function. Let us know what your video card make and model is and what software driver for it you have installed and we?ll try to help figure it out. If I?ve misunderstood your question please elaborate.
