Turn on the console. let it start up all the way. turn on the controller. on the console to the right side of the two memory card slots is a little button. press and hold it til the green lights start flashing around the power button. there is a little button on top of the controller. when the lights around the power button are flashing, press and hold the button on the top of the controller til the lights around the center button start flashing and then it should sync together

How to Configure an Xbox Controller Fotolia.com"> configure-xbox-controller-800x800.jpg Configure you Xbox controller.

The Xbox 360 utilizes two types of controllers: wired and wireless. Like most operations on a video game console, configuring a controller requires little effort. You can either plug the controller into a port on the Xbox 360, or sync a wireless controller using the console's built-in controls.
Difficulty:Easy Instructions

  1. Wired
    • 1 Connect the controller's cable to the in-line release cord. This cord prevents you from accidentally pulling the Xbox 360 along with your controller during game play.
    • 2 Insert the in-line release cord's USB plug into the USB port on the front of the console.
    • 3 Turn on the console to activate the controller automatically.
    Wireless
    • 1 Insert batteries in your wireless controller, if necessary.
    • 2 Hold down the "Guide" button on the controller.
    • 3 Push the Xbox 360's "Connect" button, located on the front of the console.
    • 4 Push the controller's "Connect" button to sync it with the Xbox 360.

Make sure you are pressing the sync button on the controller as well as the sync button on the xbox.
If this does not work you may have to purchase a new controller.

Your controller is defective. Take it back to the store and get a new one. That happens once in a while. There is nothing you can do about it.

How do you 'connect' extra wireless controler?

there is a "sync" button located on the top rim of the controller. the is also a "sync" button located on the xbox 360. the sync button on the xbox 360 is a small round circle on the faceplate. To connect the controller, turn on the xbox and click both buttons at the same time.

My Xbox 360 wont sync any of my wireless controllers and the powe

if your wireless controllers wont sync to your xbox, it could be one of 2 things.

assuming your batteries are fully charged, and that you're using a certified xbox controller, it could be that the controller itself. it is really rare that the wireless receiver inside the xbox itself, goes out, but soemtimes, it happens.

the easiest thing or you to do would be to either pick up an after market controller, or another certified controller, and see if they'll work. if you try other controllers, and they STILL dont work, verify that your system settings are correct, or are set to default, and make sure that your xbox isnt sitting close to something that could be interfering with the signal....like a wireless router for example

if this doesnt work, then it's a problem with the xbox, and you should send it back to the service repair center.

New xbox 360 not reading old 360 wireless controller

It sounds like it needs syncing in. On the controller there is a little button between the LB & RB buttons, when pressed the the green LED ring will light up clockwise.
At the same time press the sync button on the 360, just to the left of the power button, the green LED ring on the 360 will also light up clockwise, after a few seconds both controller and 360 should sync.

How do you reset an xbox 360 controller that didnt come with the original 360

If it is a wireless controller all you have to do is turn your xbox 360 on and then you press the tiny button on the front of your 360. Then you press the tiny button on your wireless controller. Once they are synced all you have to do next time to connect the controller is hold down the xbox button until it lights up when the 360 is already on.

Let me know if it is something else or if you need further clarification.

Good luck

Xbox 360 wireless controller not connecting.

it sounds like your controller keeps losing sync with the 360.

- turn them both off
- turn on the 360 with the power button on the console
- wait for it to start up, then press the sync button next to the usb flap on front.
- then press the sync button on the controller (by the recharge connection slot)

That should reset it.
