Hi,
first you remove the cartridge properly as shown in the manual, or in help content,
and insert new cartridge in printer properly.

Hi,

Turn the printer off, take out the cartridges, turn the printer on, reinstall cartridges. Printer reads cartridges as new.

Why this happens? I don't know if the rumors are true but check out this website and you'll find out.

Epson stylus photo r380 say call epson when i power on ihave the continuous ink system

It's probably one of two things... Either:

1. General Error : In which case it's likely that
  • There's something blocking the printhead path (eg: soiled paper jam, etc...)
  • The chips on your cartridge are faulty/dirty/etc...
  • There's a problem with a flat cable popping out of it's connector block or similar
  • or something more serious...
OR...

2. Service Required (ie: waste pads are considered full) in which case you can find out more information on what it means and how to deal with it here:
http://www.octoinkjet.co.uk/waste/

With a little luck those should help one way or the other

Colors on screen do not match colors in print have an SyncMaster 204b screen and an Epson Stylus Photo R380

You will have to keep collabrating the colors on your monitor until you get the right print out. If you're not using the right ink this will also throw off the print outs. Epson R380 is not really your avg high end printers so you will not get the best results. I suggest look for a monitor collabration software to correct your problem.

INK CARTRIDGE WHEN ALL CARTIDGE ARE IN , AN ERROR STATES THAT ALL CARTIDGES ARE EMPTY NEEDS CHANGING

I have had the same problem with some HP units. Try unplugging the cord from the wall and let it sit for about 5 minutes then power back up. Don't just turn it off but unplug it. If this doesn't work call Epson because the problem is in the circuitry of the unit itself.

All ink jet printers act this way. All carts must have ink in them.

Epson R380

Turn on the printer. The printer head will start to move to the left; immediately pull out the power cable from the back of the printer. You can now move the print head to the cartridge exchange position by hand. Change the cartridge(s) and close the cartridge cover. Re-insert the power cable, turn the printer back on and it should work OK.
