Question about Computers & Internet

Running lines To whom this may concern. I seem to have a problem with a few of our monitors, they have running lines even when a source is not connected to the monitor. I have tried changing the power supplies to the monitors, with no success. It can't be the voltage frequencey as they were working before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Mark

They are white wide lines about 10mm that scroll down the screen. The lines are perfectly parellel to eack other.

I can change the diodes if need be. Would these same diodes also make othe monitors to blank out?

What kind of running lines? Do these lines look really fine and multicolored with no obvious pattern, scattered all over the monitor screen?

It is probable that there's a loose diode near the vertical or horizontal sync circuits. Have those monitors checked by somebody who can locate those diodes and redo the soldering.

Check engine lights came and stays on, seems to be running fine.?

The car monitors a ton of different sensors and some of them will cause no real drivability concerns. Things like fuel line evaporation system leaks and oxygen sensor malfunctions are both examples of this. I would still recommend going to a place like AutoZone or Advance where they can pull a code for free and then you can decide what you need to do from there.

I have a fine horizontal line running 2/3rd's of my hp mini note book.should i be concerned?

This could be a hardware issue with the LCD screen of display card. To confirm the same, connect an external monitor and check if the same line appears on external monitor. If external mitor works fine, then its a LCD defect. If you have same issue on both LCD and External monitor, then it could be due to display card. In either cases you may need to take to service center.

Trouble with my BenQ monitor

As a general rule, this is a panel failing.
The panel is working for a few minutes until it heats up then begins to breakdown. Blowing air onto it wont help since the area in question is under another panel inside the monitor.
The video control board (inside the monitor that converts signals between your PC and the physical panel) could be failing.
Another source of the problem, though rare, is the capacitors that filter power for the panel's power supply (on the main powerboard) begin to break down and that is enough to cause the issue.

Because this is a BenQ, it may come back to life if you replace any capacitor that looks even remotely suspect & resolder all the main components on the powerboard.
Be warned, there are dangerous voltages stored by the main filter capacitor that can kill even if the monitor has been unplugged for several hours.

Long story, short version. New 16 top line camera system. Monitors in office and apartment in seperate building. All components and wires are new. When running appliances or even turning light switches on...

Chances are your installer used different power sources within your building to provide power to the cameras. If electric power is being supplied through multiple circuits (different breakers) this can cause sync problems and interference. The first thing I would try is to put all the cameras on the same power supply. A DC power supply is best if your cameras accept DC voltage. The second thing is to check how close all camera coaxial cables are running near high voltage lines (120/240 VAC). Eventhough coaxial cable is shielded you can induce voltage bleed over from electrical lines into your video, which will appear as interference lines on your monitor. Cables should be at least 2 feet away from electrical lines. If both wires run together parallel for more than 10 feet then you need to cross over the electrical line at a right angle every 10 feet. This will help eliminate interference.

Distorted white lines running across screen

Disconnect the monitor from the computer and turn the monitor on
it will display a diagnostic colorbar are the lines still there.
if not they are likely a cable or video card.
if they are still there have a tech evaluate the monitor.

Had a Acer al2017

If your picture was okay when it was running and the screen was not pinkish then the power board inside the monitor is in need of an overhaul.
Your unplugging it and plugging it back in just did a temporary reset by discharging the capaciotrs for a bit.
It more than likely needs new capacitors installed.
I have done a few of these and do a lot of inverter power board repairs through ebay id bammbammfran
