LG DvD Reciever (LH-T550) issue (Xbox 360/ TV sound)

I have lost my remote for the system and I'm currently trying to set up the surround sound for my Xbox 360/TV, I have plugged the sound cables (red & White) into the receiver and display cable (Yellow) into the TV but some how i need to change the setting on the receiver from DvD player to sound input (play sounds for my Xbox/TV).

Is there any ways around this or would I have to either find the remote... or buy a new system. Also is it possible to connect a Universal remote to the receiver?

For those not familiar with the model
The buttons on the top of the box are;

Power/Standby
Func/play
Mono/ST Pause/Step - (single button)
Stop
Fast forward
Rewind button

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

I dont know about a universal remote my friend but a remote is defo needed to ajust and alter sound settings , I have the same system and it can not be done with the reciever alone. The AUX button on the remote has to be activated to get sound thru LG speakers providing your game console is connected to your TV, then a set of audio cables from your TV via the (OUT) ports (this is a must) back into you LG reciever. Goodluck

How to hook up your PS3/Xbox 360 to your Home Theater Speakers

Take the red and white cord and plug it into the back of you systems (DVD Blu Ray etc) and then have another red, white and yellow cord and hook it up to your cable box and run that to your DVD player and you will have surround sound gaming in no time LOL

I am trying to get surround sound to all my devices, I have a blu ray 5.1 surround sound ht-f4500, an RCA 46LA45RQ and an xbox 360 slim, also a satelite box how can i make all of this support surround...

Connect the sound outputs from all the satellite box and the xbox to the sound inputs on the back of the ht-4500. Do not connect the tv sound output to the ht. As an example of the connections see this:

I cant get the tv to go through the surround sound i can only get the surround sound to play when its a dvd playing do i need another wire to go from the dvd player or will it not work no matter what plz...

If you've got the Audio Input Source set as TV-Audio and it won't play as Surround Sound then you'll need to connect the Audio Out from your TV (if it has one?) to the Audio AUX IN on your LH-T360SE and change the Audio Input Source to AUX.

I have an LG LED TV and Samsung 5.1 Surround sound and when it comes to Blu Ray movies I get sound, but I don't get the surround sound through cable or XBOX 360, the only time I do is through the TV when...

the very best and easiest solution is have every input into your tv, and your TVs audio out (RCA/Optical) into your reciever. this is a variable audio (Meaning you can only listen to your reciever with your TVs audio up) or you can turn off the audio completely in your TVs soiund properties.

hope that helped :) -Jordon

Audio Issue

You may have tried this, but when you hook up audio out from TV to audio in on reciever, did you try the different input options for the reciever. Often times, audio in is an aux1 or aux2 setting on the receiver. If it is working with the DVD player, it is functional, you just have to get the wires hooked up and get the reciever on the correct setting. Also, even if you have TV audio out correctly configured to audio in AND on the correct input setting, the TV volume will have to be UP as well as the receiver volume. NOT ALL THE WAY UP (you'll blow your speakers), but up about 25% for you to hear it.

Center speaker and wireless rear speakers have no sound

I had the same issue, but apparently...it's not an issue. What I discovered is that the system was fine, but the station I was watching didn't broadcast in 5.1 surround sound. Therefore, only the front speakers will have sound. Try putting a dvd in, or listening to a gameing system through it. If you don't have sound after listening to something that puts out full surround sound, then you know you have an issue.
