I found this page in the User Guide. Maybe it will be helpful.
"If the printer has a new memory DIMM installed, all Windows users of the printer must set the printer driver to recognize the newly added memory. Macintosh computers automatically recognize new memory.

To enable memory for Windows
1. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and click Printers or Printers and Faxes.
2. Select this printer and select Properties.
3. On the Configure tab, click More.
4. In the Total Memory field, type the total amount of memory that is now installed.
5. Click OK."

Give this a try and if it doesn't work, let me know and I'll keep looking.

Hp laser jet 2605dn give a error 10.0000

Any 10 errors are related to cartridges and the memory chips on them. If you just changed a cartridge then it is possible that it is defective. Try putting the old cartridge back in. Also ensure that the cartridges are all seated fully and that the front door closes properly as this can trigger the error as well.

MY HP Presario SR1710NX won't recognize the 1 gig memory chips I have

Is the Memory PC-3200? Let me get this correct, you have installed 4 1 GB's of PC-3200 Memory in 4 DIMM slots. If you shut down, unplug, check/reseat memory mods, plug in ,reboot, Open BIOS, Check Memory installed, what does it say? I looked at the specs for KVR400AK2/1GR it's saying it's 2x512mb's? I'm confused? Is this it? Download this little Freeware program, it will help:

I just plugged my HP2605dn into a new desktop with Windows 7. When I print I don't get the option to print on both sides. The HP tech desk told me to download a PCL6 driver. Didn't work, just a generic...

Duplexing on that model is controlled solely via the driver. According to HP's public support site Windows 7 should have the proper driver preinstalled for this model. If not, go to Microsoft Update and search under the Optional Software. HP doesn't have the Windows7 driver available on its website at the moment.

Got 50.2 fuser problem on hp2605dn wheres the fuser and how do i solve it?

Unfortunately there is nothing to do, if the fuser is damaged it must be replaced, and chances are that your printer is out of warranty.

Press the "check mark" on the control panel. Press the > until you see "reports". You are looking for "Reports" or "config reports" Hit the "check mark" and print the Config Report. It will tell you how much memory it has.

My HP2605DN has packed up and won't work. I am stuck with the backujp cartridges... does HP make another similar printer that is still available that uses the Q6000A, etc cartridges.

There are no new printers that take this cartridge now, unless you find a 'new old stock' item.

There are companies (certaily in the UK, probably elsewhere) that will either refurbish YOUR printer, or sell you a refurbished one on an exchange basis.

Initialization flash simm memory on LJ4+

You don't have to initialize the extra memory on that printer. Just install it and when you power on the printer it will recognize the extra memory. If you mean install, then go to and look at the instruction manual in the support section. I believe you have to extract the formatter board from the rear and then you should see the place where the chips should go.

My HP 2605DN when it prints the red is missing from the pictures.

My HP2605dn does this about every 6 months. I am getting fast at fixing it. The laser mirror for the red ink is dirty and needs to be cleaned. I use a Q-tip, rubbing alchohol, and air. The problem is that the mirror is way, way, way inside and you need to remove about 40 screws. The first time it took me 4 hours. Today it took me 20 minutes!. I put the instructions on my web site.
