Question about NEC AccuSync LCD52V-BK (Black) Monitor

Open Question

Would like to be able to switch from normal scan to reverse scan

We have the NEC AccuSync LCD52v-BK as part of the prompter setup. We want to feed it and two other computer monitors from a VGA splitterbox. The other two monitors are only for the personell to look at when they are not reading off the camera prompter so they can follow along without looking directly at the camera. Since the prompter software can send out normal left-to-right scan to all monitors we need to reverse the feed, right-to-left, to the prompter screen with the mirror. Can we install a switch on the above mentioned monitor to be able to change the scan as needed?

SOURCE: NEC AccuSync 120 Frequency setting

This is the maximum resolution for this monitor:
1600 x 1200 / 76 Hz

Even if you lower the resolution to the monitor, as I can see that you want to do, the maximum refresh rate is still going to be 76 Hz. If you were able to force the monitor to scan a greater field rate and its protection circuits do not shut it down, the monitor will be damaged.

Your display card is most likely limited also, unless you went out and bought a very high end card.

When using a different resolution that what the specs on the monitor indicates as its native mode, this will reduce the quality of the results displayed.

Try changing the resolution of the screen. Right click on an empty area of the desktop and select properties. Now choose the Settings tab and try adjusting the slider for resolution and click on APPLY. The screen will go blank for a few seconds and will show up in the new resolution. If you find it satisfactory, click OK to keep it, or click NO to go back and try a different resolution.

You can also go into Control Panel and check the monitor properties from there.

Hope that helps!

Hi:
Your monitor has a problem on its inverter board. It is an electronic component failure, and often it cost's more to fix it than to buy a new LCD monitor .

NEC Monitor LCD1700V

I had a similar problem with a NEC LCD1935, and I traced it to the inverter board which was a Lien Chang LI-2190 ... it seems that common problems with this type of board are bad solder joints due to the temp. cycling, or blown capacitors, but I was too lazy to resolder everything so I just disconnected the BL signal line that goes between the main board and the inverter board, and this solved the problem. In my display it was a green line, marked BL on the inverter board -- I removed it from the connector and just taped it off.  I'm guessing that this is a blanking signal that the invertor uses to signal to the main board there is an overcurrent situation and that the display should be blanked/shutdown.
I'm certain that there are still problems with the inverter and it might go again, but at least I have a working monitor for the time being.
Caveat emptor.
