This moldy look could also be due to alot of 40 degree or less washing temperatures where the bacteria cannot be killed therefore a once a month maintenance wash at max temp would help solve this.

A service tech told us to run an empty sanitary cycle with bleach and vinegar every few months to stop the mildewy smell.

It dosent matter where you live,mouldy resudure is a common problem.lets fix your problem, take a simple dishwasher tablet put it in with some old rags or dish cloths and run it through your machine x2 .then run your machine as normal also run a hot wash every now and again,this will elemanate any problems you have hope this helps .adrian
