Question about Mitsubishi WS-48613 48" Rear Projection Television

Need to reset Mistubishi 48 rear projection tv.

While the tv was on and in tv viewing mode my daughter pressed a button (I don't know which one) on the remote that came with the set and then I pressed a button to change channels and immediately the tv goes into PiP mode of which we cannot get it out of now. When we press the power button to turn on the set a blue screen appears which if we want to play video or dvd we need only turn on one of those players and the image will appear. However to get to the tv viewing mode we must press PiP (5) buttons in a sequence that allows for tv viewing. To say the least pressing 5 buttons to get tv is a pain. We unplugged the set for a day to reset it but that did not work. Is there a way to reset it?

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

My tv is locked and asking for a an unlock code. I have never had a lock code on the tv since i bought it several years ago. How can I reset or bypass this feature. BTW mt TV is a 48-50" projection...

Hello
I thinks that you have its original remote handset with you now, and posts this solution. If you don't have it, either buy a new original remote handset or try to get it from any of your friends and relatives, who owns the same model of Mitsubishi Tv, you have now; only to unlock it. After unlock, you can use any other remote control.
Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit code for a V-Chip locked program, view a locked TV, cancel the lock, or to enter the V-Chip lock menus. You can view the locked shows on the TV set by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your code is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV and asks you to enter a new code.
OK.

Can the WS-55819 be reset through a reset button?

Code 22 is short protect. Recheck your work. Did you check and replace open fuses and/or Convergence IC's. The Conv. IC's normally open at least one fuse when they go out.

Double vision

The double vision is from bad convergance ic's and posibly some support resistors or pico fuses. if you are not an electronics tech I suggest to have one do it. the ICs can range from $45.00 to $60.00 each and is suggested to replace both of them. some mitsies had one IC which I cant remember how much it was. tech charges vary. some prices may be $150.00 to $300.00 shop around.
