Question about Fujitsu ScanSnap S510
The scanner does not appear to be communicating with the computer.
This is a new installation (scansnap manager v 4.2 L14) on a new Dell w/ Windows XP. Scansnap manager icon appears on the "icon bar", but is "x'd out" in red.
Scansnap manager does not appear in the "Control Panel"; "System"; "Hardware"; Device Manager now. The 1st time, I was able to access it so I could update the "Driver" as suggested in the troubleshooting checklist, but I got scared & aborted when I got the message about the product not being "Windows XP approved". Wish I had proceeded, but then I uninstalled. I have tried to uninstall/install several times.
Any thoughts would be greatly appeciated.
Problem solved. Ignore the "Windows XP approval" message & continue with the fix suggested in the troubleshooting section of the manual.
