Question about Northstar Explorer 657 Gps/Chartplotter/Sounder Combo With Tm Transducer

Open Question

Wiring Connections I have a Comar SLR 200 AIS and want to tie into my Navman Tracker 5607 chartplotter via NMEA. I can't understand which wires to connect from the AIS to the plotter or which wires from the plotter to the AIS. Have set-up the plotter as per the manual, but still no results. Can you provide the actual wire colours that are to be used and/or any other set-up I must do on the plotter.

  • I am providing a link to the installation manual. The pages you will want to reference are pages 64, 65, 66 and 67 which thoroughly cover installation with the diagrams you requested and instructions as well. I have uploaded some screen shots of the diagrams of the manual in regards to your request. The manual will have better defined diagrams on the pages I have indicated. http://www.northstarnav.com/upload/Northstar/Documents/EXPLORER_660.pdf

Uniden um425 vhf to navman trackfish 6600 what coloured wires do I connect.

Hi Gil!
Easy peasy.
From your 6600, the data sends are the white wire NMEA (+) and the black wire (-). There are two black wires. Doesn't matter which one you use as they're interconnected anyway.
To your UM425, the green wire is NMEA in and the bare wire is ground.
So...
white from 6600 to green and
black from 6600 to bare.

Hope this helps you out.

Dear Sir.I would like to know that the availability of navman tracker 5505,5605 or 5507. I am ver interested to place an online order for the Tracker 5505.thank you. Ahmed Rasheed.Maldives, e mail. ah

The NAVMAN trackers are no longer available as the company stopped making marine products. You can however find current products at www.lowrance.com.
The closest you can find is a Lowrance Elite 5mHD

In case you want to refer to a manual for 5505/06 refer this site.

You can still find some old 5505 units at speciality marine online stores. Give this a try.

Can it take ais?

Hello,
A Standard-Horizon CP180 Chartplotter can recieve information from an external AIS device with a NMEA data wire connection. The cable from the NMEA output of the AIS would be connected to "Port 1" (Page 18 of the CP180 user manual) on the CP180 and then the CP180 menu settings configured to show AIS targets, data, etc. (Page 21 on the CP180 user manual)

Integrating AIS, Radar, Autohelm 7000 and flux gate compass.

ActiSense makes a programmable multiplexer that should do this for you. It is called an ActiSense NDC4 USB. Not sure is the Standard requires a separate compass signal, but if not, and the Standard can use a standard 38000 baud AIS data stream, the NDC4 will work for you. 847-746-0100

I have a SI-TEX black box receiver and I'd like to connect it to a Garmin GPS chartplotter. The SI-TEX black box receiver instructions at one point say:"If the GPS has a NMEA output (or NMEA REF) connect...

Yes, the NMEA- output (I think you lefy uot the "-" in your questoin), anyway, the NMEA - or NMEA negative or NMEA ref is hooked to battery supply ground.
Dont forget to program the Garmin to look for 48,000 baud data.
