I have Win2000 and a Pioneer 105 patched to to the 1.33 hacked firmware.
I bought a Verbatim 4x certified DVD-RW the other day and got my mate to
copy some stuff off his PC to it, but I can't erase it. I've tried various
programs and I get things like "illegal format" and "operation completed
with errors"
And no, the DVD-RW is not empty, and it reads fine, but doesn't write/erase.
Any ideas?

It appears so. I now use NEC drives, but my heart is still
with Pioneer - they've 'done good' for me for the last few
years. Something to do with the advancement of laser
diodes frequency response or summat. :-/
