the problem is where the mouse cursor is. When you begin to type have the mouse cursor as far down the page as possible the glide pad can pick up the slightest variant of pressure and move your text to the position where the mouse cursor is.

You need to go to the mouse settings. This is usually in Control Panel.
If using Vista, you can click the start button and in the search field, just type "mouse". That will find exactly what you're looking for.
Once you go into the Mouse Properties, click on the Tapping tab. There should be an option (checkbox) that says "Tap off when typing".
Check that box and you should be ok.

My issue does not include touching the touchpad. I have even gone so far as to turn it off and just use a HID mouse. What I tried and so far it seems to be working, was to go out to the control panel mouse controls and adjust the mouse speed to a slower rate. I am still playing with it but it seems to be better. Hope this helps.
go to my computer icon, right click, properties>hardware tab>device manager, then lok down the list to keyboard, click on the + sign and right click on your keyboard and select uninstall.
Restart the notebook and the driver will automatically load again and should type as normal.
