My laptop locked up i shot if off a when i push the start button ,, it will not com on at all 2 light come on but nonthing else can you help me thanks....

It sounds as though your system may have gone into a suspended or hibernated state. Try pressing the power button briefly to see if this will bring the system out of its state.

!!!WARNING, READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING!!!

If that didn't bring your system back to working order, hold the power button down for 10 seconds and the system should shut off. However, there is a small risk that this could result in data loss or corruption but it doesn't sound like you have much of a choice at this point, anyway.

If i leave it for 15 min it automatically grt shutdown?

go to your control panel (from teh start menu, or round blue icon in the bottom left corner) and look for power options. you can customize power settings in there, most laptops are set to go into suspend mode after sitting for a while to save power. you can set the amount of time that it waits before suspending itself, when its plugged in you can set it to stay on all the time. there are seperate settings for when it is on battery as well.

It wont turn on!

Ensure that teh laptop is well connected to power adapter.

Try connecting the laptop with power adapter and no battery , if the laptop starts then you have a defective battery.

Ensure that you have no CD inside the laptop, a bad CD can prevent system from booting.

Also remove all USB devices attached.

In any case, unless the problem was caused by a CD or by a USB device, call teh seller and ask to replace the laptop, as it is new and it is faulty.

Power LED Flashing Yellow on Qosmio laptop F15

This flashing LED means only one thing, and it is quite harmless:

Your laptop is either "asleep" (suspended) or in "hibernation" mode.It does this if left for a long time with no activity/input from you. You must simply "wake the laptop up" now:

Look for a symbol on keyboard for "sleeping" (like a half moon with zzzz) and press that key WITH whatever color coded key matches the symbol color (usually "FN" key). If there is no suchkey, press the space bar and hold it down a few seconds.

Then wait. Can take 60 seconds to "wake up" on slower processors.

If this does not work, press AND hold the POWER button for 10 seconds. Then wait 60 seconds and press power key again, briefly, to start laptop normally.

Pressing and holding the power button 6-10 seconds forces a complete system shutdown.

If this happens often, something may be wrong with APM or ACPI settings/driver. You can go to start menu/settings/control panels/power management and adjust settings (or disable sleep/suspend and hibernation if all else fails to resolve situation)

good luck.

Suspend light

Is your laptops motherboard and vga chipset working? Please try to connect the laptop to another monitor if you are unable to get any image out it might be that the 2nd output is disable OR your motherboard or vga chipset has failed.

If the laptop works on another monitor, then there is still something wrong on the lcd.

But I think there is a more serious problem.

if you need more assitance let me know. good luck.

Screen went black

When you close the lid, there is a small pin that engages the case and flips a switch to tell the laptop the case has been closed. The monitor will ALWAYS turn off then, because otherwise, the heat build up would burn the screen! Do not try to defeat this, replacing an LCD screen is usually more expensive than the value of the laptop!

Now, that all being said (and please remember), the situation you have now is (hopefully) just that the laptop tried/succeeded in going into ACPI "suspend" or "hibernate" mode.

1. Remove all cables and 10/100. Remove all USB devices. Just leave the PSU (AC power supply) connected.

2. Press the power button firmly, JUST once. Wait. And I mean WAIT, because some laptops can take 2 minutes or more to come out of suspend/hibernate, if they were very busy at the time it was shut down.

3. If the LCD screen lights up. you are done. But if it does not light up now, then proceed to step 4.

4. Press and HOLD the power button down for 10 seconds. This forces the laptop to shut down completely, even from suspend/hibernation. Some unsaved files may be lost, but tghe laptop goes cold, so you can start ACPI over again.

5. After a few minutes, press the power button again, firmly, just ONCE and for 1 second max. Laptop should start up OK.

6. Once it starts up, go to START MENU/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL/POWER SETTINGS and search for the "hibernation" tab. Turn hibernation OFF. your laptop obviously has some problems or lack of responsiveness with hibernation (most do). Use suspend, instead. It is much safer,. faster, and still does a good job of saving HDD and LCD wear. Please let me know how this goes for you, there are other more detailed problems that may be involved here, but I suspect this is most likely.

It won't turn on!

Flashing green battery means it is in suspend mode. Pushing the power button should bring it out of suspension, however, one of the reasons I deactivate both suspend and hibernate mode is because the seldom work right. I would disconnect your A/C power cord and remove your battery from the laptop. After about 30 seconds plug them back in and your commuter should start again. Let us know how things go.
