I had this problem before on my cruzer. The quick fix is to just plug it into a computer. Once that is done go to " My Computer" in the start menu and click on the USB drive that it is pluged into. Go to properties. There should be an option for you to format your disk. Click yes to format the disk. After that is done it should show that your Cruzer is emty with the full amount of free space available.

Dear Team Today when i try to use my CRUZER U3 (8GB) I GET MESSAGE "you have reached the maximum number of failed password...

Each U3 smart drive comes with a pre-defined number of login attempts. When you have only 3 attempts remaining, you will receive a warning message to prevent losing your data unnecessarily.
SanDisk does not have any method to bypass the password security feature on Cruzer U3 flash drives. SanDisk has not built in any back door or password reset methods. If the password feature is enabled and you exceed the number of incorrect password attempts, the drive will lock. Once the drive is locked there is no way to unlock the drive or gain access to the data stored on the device. You can only select the format feature, which will perform a secure erase (drive wipe) and data recovery will NOT be possible. U3 Cruzer flash drives which are password protected use 128bit AES encryption for data security

I just bought a sandisk cruzer and don't know how to set a password. From what I understand, sandisk allow you to set a password so that a password is need each time you wnat access to the usb drive. Is...

If your cruzer came with U3 then you are in luck. U3 can be set with a password that requires login before any data can be accessed. Just be sure you don't forget the password because it will have to be erased to reset it.
It can be downloaded from here.

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB USB plugged it, light on, but shows an empty file in windows with capacity of 0bytes Also shows a CD drive (the one that U3 runs) which says nothing is in disk drive.

It is likely an issue with the filesystem. The FAT filesystem gets easily corrupted. If that's the case, reformatting it with FAT32 should help. But remember - reformatting erases all the data, so don't do it if you have anything important on the drive!

Sandisk 8gb cruzer not working

Bring the Sandisk cruzer to any computer store that offers data recovery and back up or data retrieval. We called them the Data Recovery Center.

Most of them has a software they use in cracking passwords and other secured programs. From their computer, they could actually back up your important files saved in your Sandisk. Then you may now reformat your device.

Hope this helps and have a great day!

Erase Data?

If you goto My computer and click on the Appropriate Letter for your flash Drive you can then Right click on it and go to "FORMAT" and then from there click Ok or Next. This will erase all data on the flash drive. You can also physically open the drive in my computer and select everything by pressing CTRL and A at the same time and then pressing the DELETE key on your keyboard, either one works fine and will delete the data off of a flash drive. Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution. Please Help rate me if I helped you out or not I am new but a very good tech.

Sandisk 2gb cruzer says read only, no data transfer ability

Is there a little switch somewhere on the thumbdrive. If so that would be the read-only switch. Try it in the other position.
