I want to darken copys on my canon pc850

With my cannon pc 850 i recently needed to get a new toner cartridge, last time that i did so i had a professional refill it and adjust the darkness of the copies.. since i have replaced it this time the copier dose not copy as dark, we use a lot of red pencil sketches in the copier machine and now even at max darkness they are still to light of copies for what we need here.. i know there is some sort of way to adjust it using the key pad on it i just don't know it. any help would be appreciated

It seems you used the cartridge upto 3 times usage. you may need to change the drum.

Replace the drum/toner unit it should be sold as one complete cartridge.

rather expensive. you might check for a compatible or remanufactured cartridge

Copies and prints are very very light. New toner cartridge installed, but it has been on shelf long time. Changed exposure and quality to darken and it didnt work. The bulb is not very bright.

You need to clean the optics, including the laser unit, and transfer roller.

Do you have genuine crg or?
If not genuine try with original

My toner was low, so I replaced it...it printed one page and now won't copy or print (cannon multipass mp730)

Hello,

If you changed the toner cartridge before the previous one was completely empty, it is possible the machine simply did not reset.

Turn the power off and take the new toner cartridge out. Turn the power back on and wait for a message telling you there is no toner.
When you get the no toner message re-insert the new toner cartridge.

If this does not clear the message, you will need to find the button to press to manually reset the toner cartridge from Canon.

Thanks,

Pat

Sounds like you have a bad drum. If a mirror was dirty, all prints would be light.

Remove the toner/drum cartridge. Carefully rotate the drum, via the end with gear, to check the edges for toner spots like appear on the copies. If located on drum, GENTLY wipe off with a dry cotton ball. Reinstall cartridge. Check to see that spots are gone. If spots reappear, replace with new cartridge (drum most likely damaged)

I resolved this problem (hopefully) by downloading an updated printer driver from the Cannon USA site.

Canon PC940 Problem

You could have a broken exposure lamp. Does the scan bar light up when you make a copy? If not that is the problem. You might also ck the contacts on the machine where they touch the toner cartridge. The toner cartridge opens a shutter to the drum when you slid it into the machine and that may be broken.
