I own a Jet Left Tilt Cabinet Saw Mdl 708663PK. The on-off switch seems to stick and does not always start the saw. The saw runs normally when it starts. When it does not start, the on switch depresses and does not feel like it is connected to anything. The off switch does not fell like it is contacting any form of a reset switch. This seems to be worse when cold. Any ideas?

I took the front cover off of the switch and noticed the portion of the switch the off button contacts was fully depressed and would not slide back to its proper position. I lubed (silicone) the slide portion of the off switch and cycled it manually to free it up and distribute the lubrication.

First guess would be a lock bolt is tightened down. Second guess would be a 90 degree latch or stop. Take a look at this link from "mikestools": http://www.mikestools.com/download/Jet-Owners-manuals/Jet%20Tablesaws/708661.pdf.

I have a delta 34-444 table saw, is it a right or left tilt, or how do i find out?

Left-tilt, right-tilt refers to the direction the top of the blade can be tilted when it is not straight up and down. There will be an indicator on the front of the saw, normally pointing to zero. When you adjust the blade away from zero, if it tilts to the left, it is a left-tilt saw.

My saw will not tilt fully, it keeps jumping the gears. I have cleaned all areas, i have checked for foreign objects jamming the saw but cannot locate the problem.

Make sure the inner ring on the locking lever has not loosened up allowing it to apply some gravity pressure and is trying to catch.
this happened to me...i could not get the blade to tilt very far and it started "clunking" inside the saw when i got just "so far". It sounded like it was "jumping a cog". I checked everything, a allen wrench" would tighten. Even outside heads on the cabinet . Sprayed everything with silicone. At the end of trying everything, checked the "lever" behind the wheel where you adjust the saw blade up/down (left turning wheel) and accidently discovered the lever had become loose and was tightening just from weight of the lever alone. I loosened the tension fully and the tilt works correctly now. No jumping. Dumb Luck discovery.RGS in Kentucky

Sometimes switch gets dust inside the "sealed" switch. Had 50/50 luck taking apart and blowing out. Can test it after switch is out to see if it is faulty by jumping wires.

The table saw shutdown where is the restart button

Usually the reset for table saw is on the motor itself
Crawl under the table and check it out & check your motor name plate (use a digital camera to photograph the name plate so you can see it large on your computer and have a record of that information)
Look for oil caps at the bearing ends of motor, to see if your motor can be oiled using 3-in-1 oil

If your saw is shutting down, you may not have enough electricity for the motor
Look at motor name plate for volts amps or watts.
Now figure how much electricity your saw need using the formula Volts x Amps = Watts

Next, look at the circuit breaker and size wire
15Amp breaker = 1440+watts
You can figure the breaker load using V X A = W

Next look at your wire going to table saw
14 gauge wire for 15 amp breaker
12 gauge wire for 20 amp breaker
10 gauge wire for 30 amp breaker

You might benefit by running bigger wire to the saw. And adding some oil in the oil caps.
I oiled my table saw and then ran a dedicated 30Amp wire to it, and it runs real good for a 25-year-old craftsman.

Our Powermatic PM66 will not start... the motor will run if the contacts are manually engaged but the contacts will not pull in using the start switch

If the motor runs without the switch then the problem is the switch. Pull out and blow it clean of sawdust and try again. Also check the connections at the switch to make sure they are tight.Hook a meter up and turn the switch on to check for continuity. Remember, switches wear out also and need to be replaced.
